Undoubtedly two of the best Cuban guitarists in the world ❤️🎵

Had the privilege of seeing Ahmed Dickinson Cardenas and Eduardo Martin perform live under their 'Bridges' moniker tonight, in a tiny local venue. Their music was incredible - beautifully delicate yet powerful at times as it told its stories, it was completely captivating. The compositions from Eduardo fused traditional Cuban Son and Rhumba with elements of flamenco, jazz and African rhythms. Blew me away tbh and not heard anything that good since I was in Cuba itself.

I'll be sharing some of their amazing music this week on my radio show, alongside other beautiful sounds.

A few weeks off now, but back live on air asap x

This was 2023. This year starts with a huge change (less gigs/more radio) but...

Sunday is my last radio show for a while, as I'm moving to Scotland! 💙😁

DJing for over 30 years has connected me to so many people, and given me so many memorable moments. The pics are just a selection of some highlights through 2023. From bookings to play alongside musical heroes, to forming new friendships or finally meeting people with whom music has brought us together. I've been able to make people dance, laugh and not worry about the worlds problems, a true blessing and privilege.

As I move northwards, to pursue another life dream. I feel incredibly privileged to reflect on how (other people's!) music can bring us together.

Through starting a radio station, I've been able to give other people opportunity to get involved, and a real highlight last year was bringing our community together through events.

Every week I do my show live, and this will continue when I move to Scotland. The whole reason I do radio is to connect with people, so while the gigs may be less frequent, radio will take a bigger focus to enable that to continue. I hope I'll also be able to start producing a little more, but we'll see.

But as much as that's really telling you all about ME, it's nothing without others... Listeners, dancers, friends, strangers, fellow DJs. You're all the most important to me. I mean, otherwise I might as well just play music to myself, right? 😉

So a huge thank you to all those who joined me on air, at gigs, who booked me, or supported me in any way to take this mad thing called music and use it for good.

I'll be taking a break after this Sunday's show, to move and settle in a new life on the West Coast. I expect it to be a few weeks, but I'll return in the spring with soul and new roots 😁🌱
