It’s been a long time coming but my personal GPZ900R project is finally *COMPLETE*
I still have to get it running well and put it through an MOT but the build is done.
There are a lot of people to thank for this one and it’s been tough to keep going on many occasions, something about the need to see the design become reality.

Hopefully more of this kind of work to come, DM if interested 🤙🏻
This beauty sprung a couple of leaks, typical of any new bike build. I'm hoping to check a chance to rectify these over the holiday period.
I will be sharing a sneak peak of some more paintwork soon.
At least I got one of the side panels lined up, doing this is a massive PITA with the original lugs on the inside being broken off completely... I had to 3d print new ones and somehow glue them in the right place to go into the grommet in the subframe. Tedius and frustrating work but one down, one to go!
Couldn't resist rolling the GPz outside now the garden is complete, very happy with how the paint looks even without and wet sand and buff! Glad all the striping and scheme lines up nicely too! Can't wait to start it next week. A busy day job slowing progress but the end is near!
Radiator and oil cooler mounted and plumbed, front end on, under its own weight and a brake line swap. Nice to feel like a bike.
Carbs, oil, coolant, wet sanding and polishing this week 👏
Top of the tank.
So nice to finally see this paint job in clearcoat! Excited to see what it's like once it's hardened and been wet sanded to remove any changes in level. No stickers here, all paint!
Been hard at work over the last week on the GPz project's wild paint scheme and getting the frame and swingarm back together. Super exciting to see it finally coming together.
Next step for paint is a couple of touch ups and plenty of clear coat for give this design loads of depth and a glassy finish!
Last one of the GPX for now!
Back on the GPz this week with engine painting and refurbishment of the ancillaries on the way before starting paint next week 🤟
Another of my favourite angles of the most recent Oxpeak project.
On to the next one.
One of my favourite views of the GPX café racer project. Recessed LED tail and brake light into the custom subframe.
More on the way 🤞
George riding into the sunset after I recently finished phase 1 of his GPX café racer project.
This included new Subframe with recessed LED tail light, bespoke seat unit and side panels with carbon fibre seat pan, billet aluminium indicators, carbon fibre exhaust hangers and many more goodies as well as a classy paint job.
The stories this week will show more of the process!
Stay tuned for more!
Having a break this week but heres some progress on the cafe racer project.
This is the undertray system I created with the number plate mount and number plate light mounted. The two pieces were laser cut and aluminium spacers turned to allow the clamp either side of the subframe.
Gpz900r engine buttoned up before painting. A few more of the engine ancillaries to be restored before the block and head are painted and the bike can be put together for the final assembly.
Exciting times!
Much nicer now the fibreglass has been largely flatted down with 60 grit paper. Really starting to take shape. A couple small imperfections to sort and it'll be ready for some primer!
Fresh paint on the hoop, a grommet for the cable on the LED tail light insert & shaping fibreglass panels. Busy evening here!
Giving a bit of a Revival to all the engine ancillaries while its going back together, should be a nice difference when the engine gets painted too!
Beautiful seat that made for the GPz project. With added height to the rider and pillion seat plus a custom seat cover it should be perfect! Can't wait to get it built up and tested.
Thanks again and if you need a seat or a new cover check out
This is what the shed has come to at the moment! Couldn't miss the opportunity to take on a customer project which meant that my GPz build has taken a back seat. Can't wait to paint it and put all the freshly powder coated parts (basically the entire bike) back together.
The engine is almost sorted now with the upgraded starter clutch and idler - common issue which needs the cases splitting to fix.
I and stripping and painting each of the ancillaries as I rebuild the engine to have a nice clean lump to put back in the frame.
The next step for the cafe racer project was to cover all of the surfaces to mould from with masking tape to create a barrier around the components already there.
Then use expanding foam to fill out the area and carved it into the desired shape.
Once complete it will be split into a seat and side panels ready for paint. Next step- bodyworking
More fun times working on the GPx cafe racer project. The rear hoop is welded and bracket are in place for the seat unit.
I'm Going to be handmaking the seat unit so watch this space as I'll share the process. Nice to see some progress made and I should make a start on the seat this weekend!

PRIMER! always nice to see the sum of the prep work in the form of high build primer. Happy with how this turned out. Blocking back in a few days.

Was super cool to sit with my best man Chris and map out the details for his paint job. I did the base coat and clear a couple of years back with the intention of it being a quick fix but it's since turned into a much longer project that needs some extra touches so I'm looking forward to adding some oxpeak flair to this one.

Some hand drawn typography going into my GPz project! Can't wait to cut it out on the vinyl cutter and incorporate it into the paint scheme 🤟

Prepping parts for paint and powder coating tonight. Previously crash damaged clutch cover, ground down to clean material, filled with metallic filler. Also side stand modified and tidied ready for powder coating. @ Oxpeak Moto
It's been a super busy couple of week sealing and painting the workshop floor, dismantling the GPz project, starting another and still trying to make progress but sometimes it's best to outsource to someone with mad skills.
Paul has absolutely knocked it out of the park, not on did he completely save the day but he made me a CNC machined internal drive from spindle, bored out the existing yokes to fit the larger than life ZZR forks and even made sure I could use a headstock stand to make reassembly easier!
Make sure you check him out for killer engineering, his work is awesome and the attention to detail is 👌
Cheers.

Been a busy last couple of days working on the GPz project! But now that the engine is out and all the parts are stripped they can be powder coated and I can go through the engine and make it start again final assembly and painting the body work 🤟
Can't wait to see the final product 😎

Custom cable holding from happy to get these on the bike. Now to find some tiny fasteners to secure them! Hoping to get back in the shed soon after the freezing weather.
@ Oxpeak Moto
Got the ignition barrel matched up to the top yoke, then repinned the connector to work with the GPz loom. All working, no issues. Still think wiring is magic.
Nice getting the GSX1400 panels out for a clean up in preparation for finally getting them finished for my best bud Chris. I've had these so long and the bike can't come together soon enough!
Outside and running the other day, may have had a cheeky test ride on our private road which was reassuring. Progress is progress.
Just keep sanding. Kinda wishing I didn't modify all of the bodywork but it'll be worth it in the end 💪
Nice to have the GPz project running again and the coolant leak fixed. Just running the fresh super unleaded through the carbs and filter here to getting smoother each time. I'm hoping to tighten everything down and get her off the stands for an off road test to check all is in order before sorting the bodywork. Progress is progress.
Ready for another start tomorrow, just need some more fuel. Fingers crossed for a non leaky session and I can crack on with getting the bodywork sorted for paint 🤞
Hopefully got this plumbing sorted now. Now for some MORE coolant and I can start the bike again, hopefully no leaks this time. Excited!
A bit of work today on the GPz project. Nice to have a little time to tinker. Can't wait for nicer weather and hopefully a first ride in the new year.
