Redlands House Care Home

Making the most of the lovely weather today. Gardening and games was a nice activity that was carried out . A resident expressed that it makes them feel so happy when they are outside gardening in the nice warm weather. A nice day with lots of fun.

Redlands house was invited to Townsend school today. Thank you to Friend in Deed and the school for arranging this. It was a lovely visit and there were lots of smiles.

It’s so nice to see the staff have fun.

Redlands House certainly know how to host a party. We have had a lovely morning celebrating King Charles birthday. A big thank you to all of the team for supporting this event. We truly have amazing staff.

Last night some residents were awake and wanted a take away. The night team very kindly ordered this in. They also carried out some pampering. Go team Redlands for being person centred in the care that you deliver.

I had a lovely morning supporting our lovely lady in the hair salon. We had a nice 1-1 pampering session and there were smiles all round.

80 years ago yesterday the course of history changed thanks to D day. In recognition to those who fought in this battle, we paid tribute to all. We all reminisced and had a special tea.

A beautiful birthday cake made by our talented chef to celebrate this gentlemen’s birthday . The chef was informed that the birthday cake was to be made with this residents favourite ingredients. A fruit cake with whiskey and soft icing. This made his day.

On the 15th of June at 11am we thought we would have a little party to celebrate King Charles birthday. Family and friends are most welcome. We will have a disco and a buffet with lots of fun and laughter.

Evie’s Owls will be attending Redlands House on the 21st of June at 14.00pm. Relatives, friends and little visitors are more than welcome to join us. Refreshments will be provided.

Today staff attended a Dementia Friends session, it was very informative and organised to enhance skills and knowledge. If friends and relatives would like to join our next session please let us know.

We have been carrying out an arts and craft session this morning. Alongside various other activities. Lots of happy faces today a good day had by all at Redlands.

It was lovely to see this 1-1 activity take place. Our activity coordinator supported a relative and resident to visit the local cafe, for a drink and cake. This was a nice visit and there was lots of smiles on their return. Creating these special moments validates how wonderful it is working in the care sector.

Can’t beat a game of bingo and residents enjoyed the prizes. We had great fun this morning.

What a wonderful afternoon we have had, thanks to Friend in Deed for organising a lovely visit from this puppy who brought so much joy. It was very kind of Kate and her assistant for bringing Pepper in. Residents and staff were delighted, it made our day thank you ☺️

A big thank you to Kara a college student who has been carrying out work experience at Redlands house. We will miss you, all the best for the future.

We had a lovely visit this afternoon from Hellesdon high school students, very impressed with the music and lovely conversations had. Residents also joined In an online quiz with other residents from other care home’s and Dussindale primary school. Thank you to Friend in Deed for organising this.

A big thank you to Steven from Epic Norfolk for carrying out a fun morning with games and exercise.

Friend in Deed arranged a wonderful trip to Ormiston Victory Academy, for hand massages, nail painting and pampering. The pupils were amazing, kind and caring. It was so lovely to see this intergenerational interaction and we can’t thank you enough.

Daisy the dog certainly made this ladies day. Animals really do bring great pleasure.

Please do join us for a western themed barbacue on the 6th of July. We have entertainment booked and much more.

On the 24th of August at 2pm we are holding a Masquerade ball, we have the City Norwich brass band attending who will be providing the musical entertainment. We have raffles, tombola various stalls and canapés provided. Please put this in your diary as its going to be a fun event. If you wish to dress up please do. This event is open to friends, family and the local community.

We have had a lovely day at Redlands house 1-1 pampering sessions and our lovely college students
carried out some fun games this morning. Another great day with fun interactions.

We had a lovely visit from Teddy the dog, arranged by Friend in Deed. A big thank you to Kate for bringing in Teddy. Residents really enjoyed his visit.
