Well, I don't know about you, but I feel that we have almost skipped Autumn and Winter will be the next stop, it's like autumn isn't too worried about happening this year. The trees and hedgerows look greener than anything autumnal, although that could suddenly change in the blink of an eye. The clocks fall back in a few weeks, and then I think there will be a more noticeable change.
I recently saw a video clip of some anglers who had a lucky escape from being hit by not one, but two falling trees along the bank of the lake they were fishing. Even the match lake at the A12 lakes had one of their larger trees fall over into the lake, this was more than likely brought on by not only the high winds but soddened ground due to all the rain we have been having.
There is a chance that next week we might see the remnants of Hurricane Kirk hit the UK which will bring more rain, high winds, and even the chance of snow in the North and West, this is speculation at the moment, but still a possibility.
So we ask, as we always do around this time of the year for you to be safe and mindful of your surroundings, keep yourself wrapped up warm, and watch yourself when it comes to using any appliance inside your bivvy, be it a heater or even a stove for boiling the kettle.
If you get a take, turn everything off, take no chances and when you have anything on, leave a gap in the door or a vent to allow some airflow through your bivvy, never get into your sleeping bag with anything lit.

Well although I haven't done loads of carp fishing over the last few months it hasn't stopped me tinkering about with a few things, some new things to me too which has been super exciting!
I first started playing around with this bait spring and had fish on it but still felt there was more tweaking and changes to fully bring the vision of this year's winter promo to life
I'm now more than happy with this and although work is still crazy busy I did pencil in a day session today.... Now unfortunately due to my youngest being poorly at school my trip was cut to just less than 3 hours of fishing time 😂😂🤦🤦.... But of course, she comes first so home I went to collect her from school.
All was not lost however 😁😁
Fishing a Tu-Mino pop-up on one rod and a Tu-Mino wafter on the other over matching crumbed baits and Buckwheat from Norfolk Premier Particles all glugged up I managed 3 takes landing 2, the biggest being the common that was getting close to 20ish at a guess
I definitely could have had a few more for sure so this year's winter promo should be another mega winter bait
There will be loads more info on this over the next couple of weeks 😉😉

I had spent the first 24 hours on one of the syndicate lakes with nothing happening at all so decided to take a look at one of the other lakes there and see a few shows in one corner. With that I went back and packed down in the rain and moved. I'd fished this same swim once before and caught so I baited straight boilies spread over the area. A mixture of and glugged up with salmon oil. Nothing showed in the area since I arrived in the swim but I was hopeful of a bite. The following morning came and around 10am an alarm sceamed a bite. An angry carp was on the end after taking my beast wafter and powered off. I thought I was winning the battle until it w**ded me up solid. Placing the rod back on the rest I waited until it moved then re applied the pressure and it was on the move again going back and forth infront of me until I got the chance to bring it over and into the net.
A nice mirror of 33lb . Well happy with that one.

Had another great session catting last night, which resulted in me beating my pb just after lunch time with a 58lb and ounces beast that beat the s**t out of me all the way to the net.... This one was certainly damn angry 🤣🤣

That was my only action until darkness fell where I then went on to take another 4.... A proper one at 46lb+ and 3 small kittens

My go to techniques of Squid, Pellets, Boilies and loads of my liquids that drew them in a treat

After a dream session back in Feb.... My first proper cat fishing session by design where I landed 39 Cats I joked and said wouldn't it be amazing to hit 100 for the season... I'm now only 5 off that 😜 Watch this space hey.....💪🐈‍⬛💪🐈‍⬛

Enjoying this catfishing malarkey but really better get the carp rods out soon 🤣🤣

Had a last minute quick night myself last night as wanted to try something out for possible future use 🤔

Couldn't not put the on one rod of course.... 6 bites.... 3 on each rod with 4 landed, the biggest being a scraper 20

and of course from Norfolk Premier Particles and 3oz flat pears from Donk Leads nailing em

One thing I noticed is they certainly don't pull like the cats I've been catching this season 😂😂

Had a little social with an old mate over the other week.
After seeing a couple of fish show in my swims general area and over on the adjacent bank I put the marker out off a line of reeds to find where the w**d finished along the reedline. 17' of water and the bottom became clear. So with the usually I went round the corner to bait up. Mozzi and a spread of 18mm beast went around the marker. Then back to the swim and out went two rods on it. End result was 2 low 20 commons and lost a lost fish.
