It’s 1 year ago today since we had the idea to create WFH.
There have been some great productions and we have been joined by some great guest artistes along the way. I sincerely hope you have enjoyed what we have created so far. If you haven’t already, please take a look at our vids and feel free to share. Your support is always appreciated.

Hi folks, we hope you are all well, it’s been a while since we have posted an offering and I’m pleased to say we have all started work on the early stages of another track.
It was originally released over 40 years ago and is jam packed with harmonies.
AND
Just as a bit of fun for folks with a bit of time on their hands, bellow is an anagram of the song title, don’t spoil it for others but in-box me with your attempt.

I swear, in the style of John Michael Montgomery, performed by our Lock down band, Whit-Frey Hill 03/08/2020

We've been asked to publish the video to you tube, so here it is!

https://youtu.be/0k9U3lvxZCw

I swear, in the style of John Michael Montgomery, performed by our Lock down band, Whit-Frey Hill In April, we decided to get together remotely to do a few songs. We knew each other but had never performed together. The 3 of us, Alan Hill, Alan Godfrey an...

Hi all. We hope everyone is good as we start our slow but careful journey out of lockdown.

It's still going to be quite a while before live music gets back to as we know it but we've enjoyed doing our Lockdown tunes with our WFH project.

Next song is now finished, just the video to do hopefully before we break up for a couple of well earned weeks in our various "Motorhomes and Caravans!" ( great album title that!)

This next song features a good friend with an absolutely stunning voice.

Keep it country! Keep watching!😉🌈🗽🏜

04/07/2020

Hi everybody. We hope all our friends and family are well!. We've been a little quiet on the WFH posting and activity side of things.

We have however been working on a new track that should be ready shortly.

We're back to our country theme once more for this next classic tune. This time we have the good fortune and pleasure to be joined by one absolutely superb vocalist for this awesome song....

Stay tuned!!

27/06/2020

My Lockdown virtual Band Buddy Alan Godfrey did the Howfen Radio guest slot 2 weeks ago, my turn tonight! Tune in to hear some top tunes, 8PM !

16/06/2020

So pleased that David Paton from Pilot has complimented us on our latest collaboration - January. We couldn’t ask for a better endorsement.

16/06/2020

We're knocked out with wonderful comments and views, shares etc on our latest lockdown tune, which is January by one of the 70's best pop bands, PILOT. so, how EXTRA chuffed do you think we all felt when I received this from Mr Pilot himself, the guy who wrote and sang it, DAVID PATON.....
Mick,
I like it, you all play it and sing it pretty accurately, it’s really good. Is that you on lead vocal? Great stuff Mick. I was asked to do this with the Yacht Rock Crew in Glasgow just before lockdown, we decided against it. I’m really happy you chose it and delighted with your rendition. Well done all of you, DP.

Overwhelmed......🙏

Song 5 in WFH sessions video

13/06/2020

Hi folks. The 'Frey' in our Whitt- Frey Hill team Mr Alan Godfrey will be live on Howfen Radio chatting and playing some of his favourite songs. Live at 8pm, he also will be playing the first airing of the latest WFH project song!. Listen in around 8.20 to find out what it is! Thanks again to Alan Straughton for his continued support.

09/06/2020

Hi all. Won't be long before we're ready to post song no.5. It's a cracking number 1 70's pop song with an unforgettable melody. Great guitars and harmonies. Right up our street!

Be good fun to see a few guesses on here to what it might be?!

08/06/2020

Hi... it’s AL, so is this the publicity shot that never happened?
It’s strange but nowadays, musicians are happy to work in more than one band at a time..., in the day it was more common to have mutual respect for other bands and artistes, but, at the same time, have almost a “loyalty” to the one band you actually played in.
I guess that’s the reason why it took 40 years for us to get together (virtually speaking that is)
It’s just a coincidence that in this montage, Mick and I do have the same guitar (Roland GR700/707 guitar synth).... however we could have used photos where we both had Gibson Les Pauls, or Fender telecasters....or where all three of us had Stratacasters, the list goes on... but however many there might be, it won’t be as many different guitars as Steve Gentry... that’s for sure....

07/06/2020

Hi all! Hope everyone is having a cool weekend. Missing that big yellow hot thing in the sky though!

Just another quick big THANK YOU message from the WFH team for all the kind messages and views that you've given us for our Lock Down Sessions! We're well and truly humbled!♥️🙏

As you most probably now know we started this throughout lock down and have never played together despite having known each other for many years.

A few folks have asked if we'll be doing any gigs after all this. Who knows!!

4 songs in now, we have a no.1 70's excellent pop song up next. Great melody, harmonies....right up our street(s).

After that ( all being well 🤞) we have a very special guest going us.!

Keep safe and keeeeeeep watching!!

Alan, AL & Mick

06/06/2020

Hi all. Alan G here.....Just thought I’d add my bit to the postings. Well, another video eh. ?
When I approached Al and Mick I never thought about any kind of longevity doing what we’re doing. Maybe 1 song, 2 at the most. We have now just finished our 4th with another one “work in progress”
I have to say what a tremendous pleasure and honour it is to work with these guys. I’ve respected them for years so this is icing on the cake for me although it’s given me a few extra grey hairs! Also having Shaun Byrne on board and his versatility is a great addition to the collaboration. Watch out for other guest appearances.
It’s fabulous that we are getting so many views and great comments and we are so grateful that you have all taken the time to listen to our stuff. As Alan Hill said, please feel free to suggest future material. It would be very much appreciated. Once again a massive thank you to you all. Stay safe.

06/06/2020

Hi all, AL here, thanks for your comments, likes and shares, they mean a lot to us.
We have chosen, and are currently in the process of recording our next adventure but it’s always nice to hear what you think we aught to be doing.
There’s 4 videos posted up to now so you can get a feel for what we like to do... and just if you can’t, it’s melodic, easy listening, guitary (made up word) with a strong bias towards close vocal harmonies.
We have had a few suggestion up to now and the recent Eagles track was a result of one of them....Some suggestions, we love, but because our tracks are 100% our own recordings and programming, we have to file them in the “too hard box” for now.... we aren’t getting any younger..... or better if I’m honest and I’m running a bit short on fairy-dust and just-for- men....
Thanks
Keep viewing, sharing and telling us if you like it .... but now, you can make suggestions too.

Caveat, we do not guarantee any suggestions are taken up but it gives us a bigger choice and saves the virtual band from splitting up due to musical differences....

06/06/2020

A cover of the Jackson Browne song, famously done by the Eagles of course. Once again, featuring the multi talented Shaun Byrne on 12 string and Banjitar. I hope you like our take on Take It Easy!

Howfen Radio On Line 05/06/2020

Once again we are honoured to have the support of a radio station.

Listen in tonight (Friday 5th June 2020) at 8pm to hear Alan Straughton play a re run of our choice of covers created by our virtual band. Most importantly..... the first airing of our latest offering. What could it be? Don’t be late tuning in. Wouldn’t want you to miss out

Let us know what you think folks.
