Another weekly missive concerning the goings on at War & Peace games club
This week saw some hobbying getting done on a Kings of War Empire of Dust army, some very nice skeletons and the start of construction of an Age of Sigmar Cities of Sigmar Spearhead force.
On the gaming front there was some more small scale Pike and Shotte Epic Battles Action and three adverntureres returned to Middle-Earth where they successfully evaded the forces of darkness and are now preparing to hunt a troll!
We finished the game off with a game of Monty Python Fluxx where the Black Knight played a big role
More Fun and games next week, we have some Ambush Kings of War planned

Hello War & Peace,
Another Wednesday evening has passed us by and here is what we were up to.
We had another game of Pike and Shotte Epic Battles with many soldiers represented on the field. I’m told that even at the small scale the pikes can still injure wargamers effectively – watch out!
In the Kings of War game we played two Undead Ambush forces against a Free Dwarf and an Imperial Dwarf force allied together. The scenario was plunder and was won by the undead who moved across the battlefield quicker than the dwarfs. The Imperial Dwarfs held back waiting for the undead to come into range of their massed shooting and this turned out to be a mistake as the undead were able to soak up the damage inflicted upon them. The Free Dwarfs had more success as the beserkers chopped through the undead massed against them and made it across the table thanks to their ability to traverse the terrain.
A Kill Team battle was fought on another table, it was very green as the Nurgle Death Guard battled against some Kroot for control of the objectives.
We are open again on Wednesday for more fun and games

Greetings War & Peace,
It was hot, very hot, a breeze blew through the hall and gamers gathered to play on Wednesday evening.
Three brave adventurers set out to journey in Middle-Earth in search of a sceptre that could only be revealed by a mysterious lake. Though it took dedication and luck the brave adventurers were successful in their quest.
Some very small models battled over some pleasant fields in a game of Pike and Shotte Epic Battles.
The evening was rounded off once again with a game of fantasy flux
Next week I will be bringing some Kings of War Ambush forces if anyone would like to join me
Hope to see you soon

Salutations to all of War & Peace,
Games were played, and here is what we had
A game of Bolt Action where the Romanians and Soviets fought against British forces made up of paratroopers and good old British infantry.
Two games of Kings of War Ambush, the free Dwarfs fought against Ogres in a game of pillage and 2 undead armies sought to make the other more dead than they were – that battle was pretty much a draw at the end as everyone was dead (again!)
The Tau battled against some Death Guard. The Tau were hampered by the scenery matching the Death Guard shade of green.
Some of us finished off the night with a long game of Fantasy Fluxx, finally won by getting the Dwarven Gold goal.
A good night was had by all

Hail War and Peace followers,
Many games were played this week.
We had the dice based Quantum where the dice represent different ships as players colonise planets. The new version of Love Letter with two new card types to get to grips with (the spy and the chancellor). There was Fantasy Fluxx where the game was one, in this case, by collecting a horde of magical items.
There was also some skirmish gaming on the table with a game of Border Wars being played.
Next week I am bringing some 500point Kings of War Ambush forces, so if you would like to come and join in you are welcome.

Another week, another War & Peace games night round up,
A short update this week as it was very quiet at the club, it was almost as if there was some big sporting tournament diverting interest away from playing tabletop games… …
Only two games this week, one table saw the Brits battling against a Romanian force in a battle of Bolt Action and the other table had some more Kings of War Ambush with Free Dwarfs narrowly driving off some Ogres due to a standard bearer defending the flank of the Brock riders from the ogre sergeant with a lucky double 1 nerve roll.
More games next week
We have plenty of space available if you would like to join us.
We sadly bid farewell this week to one of our long time members, Matt (the Matt from America) is moving away and will no longer grace our tables with his shouts of enthusiasm and cries of dismay as his dice support or betray him.
Good luck for the future Matt!
WaP Chris

Hello War & Peace,
Another week, another games night.
We helped an injured ranger and successfully identified a hobbit spy in our continued adventures in Middle-Earth.
The Old World was shaken once again as the forces of the Empire and Brettonia clashed once again.
Mechs were piloted using complicated looking sheets as they clashed in a game of Battletech.
Last but certainly not least the dastardly SS were opposed once again by British Forces in a game of Bolt Action.
If you would like to come and join us, we have plenty of space.
Next week we are going to play some Kings of War Ambush. If you would like to come and try out Kings of Wear Ambush we will have some 500 point forces to test out.
WaP Chris

Hail to all War & Peace,
Wednesday has come and gone and saw much gaming at the club on a hot summers evening.
There were four of us playing Kings of War Ambush, one table saw Ogres and Undead each side playing the part of the bandits or a recovery team scouring the ruins of a manor for loot. The other table saw a band of free dwarfs trying to es**rt a caravan to safety through the undead lines.
The dastardly SS fought against our brave boys from blighty in a game of Bolt Action as troops and tanks skirmished around the countryside.
The Old World was once again rocked by battle as the empire and brettonians battled one another. The steam tank’s pigeon bombs weren’t particularly successful at damaging the enemy and even managed to drop one bomb on the steam tank.
Orks and Tau were on the final table this week, much krumpin’ of the blueys to the orks delight.
More from us next week,
If you would like to join us the first visit is free.
Hope to see you soon
WaP Chris

Greetings War & Peace Fans,
Ranks and Flanks all over the place this week, but mor on that later.
Three brave adventurers continued to explore Middle-Earth meeting with mixed success, they initially drove off the orc warlord but then became surrounded by the forces of darkness while trying to help a poisoned ranger.
Some British paratroopers searched for some Germans to thwart in a game of bolt action.
Two rank and flank games were represented this week with the Empire and Bretonnia facing off once again in the old world, they were joined on another table top by the Forces of the Abyss and the Empire of Dust in a couple of 500 point games of Kings of War Ambush (Two new ambush specific scenarios from the Clash of Kings 2024 book were played; Caravan Ambush and The Darkest Delvers). The Empire of Dust were victorious in Caravan Ambush, but the Forces of the Abyss won The Darkest Delvers.
That’s all for this week, more gaming next week!

Hail to War & Peace,
Once again here is our weekly gaming activity round up.
A busy evening with lots of different games played.
Another showing for Moonstone as the Goblins and Humans scrabbled to gather up as much moonstone as possible before the sun rose and made the valuable stones disappear.
New UK Games Expo purchases saw the table with games of War Chest and Unmatched Suns Origin.
There was some World War 2 action in a game of Bolt Action.
The Old World saw the table with a special appearance of an old cardboard building from an old Warhammer starter set. The forces of the Empire and Bretonnia clashed over who would occupy this valuable piece of terrain.
Finally was the game I was involved in, the final game of the War & Peace Necromunda campaign.
Members of Charged Talon (Van Saar) were overheard by hive scum discussing their plans to plunge St Barnabas’s Dome into darkness to allow the fellow Van Saar gang The Silent Ones to return their discovery of a valuable piece of technology to the Inner Circle Archeoteks of the House of Artifice. Unfortunately the scum that heard this plan were members of Scum Inc (aka The Revolution) who decided to use the upcoming power outage to move shipments of ‘it’s real Wild Snake (Honest)’ that they had cooked up throughout St Barnabas’s dome and make a lot of credits. Scum Inc’s plan however hinged upon them having control of where and when the power was out.
Bob the leader of Scum Inc watched from his hiding spot as Vytorian and Talos worked at a data terminal to divert the power from the generators and plunge St Barnabas’s Dome into darkness. The members of Charged Talon were gathered around their prime and archeotek as they worked keeping a watch to make sure they weren’t disturbed.
Talos let out a grunt signalling his success and the lights began to dim and Tryca the neotek called down form her vantage point on her grav-cutter that the lights in the market area The Silent Ones had chosen as their route out of the dome were already out. The lights around the generator continued to dim and Bob decided now was the time to strike. Scum Inc gangers erupted from their hiding places and attacked the prepared Van Saar gang.
Bob and Vytorian duelled at range with their bolter and combi plasma, the Van Saar’s superior technology proving superior as Bob was brought down by a well placed plasma shot. The Van Saar were carrying a lot of the unstable technology, which proved to be reliable despite all of the weapons being used at their maximum lethality.
The attention of Charged Talon was focused on Scum Inc’s Ambot which was brought down with a combination of sustained plasma shots with the coup de gras being performed by on of the Van Saar Juves as they severed something vital connecting the Ambot’s head to its limbs.
Charged Talon’s early successes proved to be enough to hold off Scum Inc’s first wave, but there are no shortage of hive scum, and it seems that Scum Inc have a lot of them and they all seem to be carrying flamers. As the battle progressed the lights around the generator continued to dim and the two groups closed with one another. Scum Inc’s numbers and many flamers proved too much in the darkness, they did helpfully provide some much needed light by setting half of Charged Talon on fire.
In the end Scum Inc gained control of the lights, however, Bob was the one who had the instructions for the power generator data terminal and after being bathed in plasma, they weren’t particularly readable, admittedly they wouldn’t have been much use as many of Scum Inc could hardly read. Control of the lights was eventually established by much trial, error and arguing and Scum Inc were able to get their ‘it’s real Wild Snake (Honest)’ distributed around St Barnabas’s Dome.
Congratulations if you managed to get to the end of my rambling.
Hope to see you soon at War & Peace
WaP Chris

Attend followers of War & Peace,
Your weekly report of the events of Wednesdays evening of gaming is below.
Warhammer 40,000 made a welcome return to our tables as some filthy Tau Empire xenos (ironically their armour was very clean) battled against the forces of the Great Enemy in the form of Death Guard traitor astartes. It is safe to say the Tau Empire’s armour got very dirty by the end of the battle.
Preparations were made to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-day landings as Bolt Action forces were assembled and plans for landing on the beaches were discussed.
Three brave adventurers embarked on journey’s into Middle Earth as they tracked some shadowy forces to their lair but were beaten back before they were able to sneak inside.
Your attention is appreciated follower – Opportunities for gaming are available for all every Wednesday – your presence will bless us all.
Thought for the day: Carry the Emperor's will as your torch, with it destroy the shadows

Ahoy War & Peace,
This week we set sail with Kings of War Armada and some Bolt Action at the club.
The Germans and the British fought over some shoreline with a British spotter precariously viewing the action.
Four fantasy fleets took to the seas in Kings of War Armada. The Dwarf and Empire of Dust ships battled to rescue their envoys after discussion for a ceasefire went sour in the Treaty and Treachery scenarios.
The Twilight Kin and Northern Alliance fleets encountered one another in the middle of a storm which reduced visibility as rain squalls moved around the ocean. There were many boarding actions over the course of the battle and the Twilight Kin Soulbane was on fire for most of the engagement after being struck by lightning in the first turn. After much destruction the Twilight Kin fleet were victorious in the A Storm is Brewing Scenario.
Next week some of us will be setting out on a Journeys in Middle-Earth campaign (there are still 2 spaces free if you are interested) as well as other tables,, scenery and games available for use.
Hope to see you soon
WaP Chris

Hello War & Peace people,
On Wednesday there was a game of Bolt Action, where the 21st Panzer division fought against the Paras.
I had a couple of demo games of Moonstone, a light fun fantasy skirmish game, very Pratchett-esque in tone that uses cards and bluffing rather than dice rolls to determine skill/combat tests.
In our Necromunda campaign we started the 6th and final cycle.
The lights went out and The Silent Ones (Van Saar) found themselves trying to survive the dark and cold while fending off a fragile alliance of convenience between Planning to Enforce (Enforcers) and Spinebuster Syndicate (Goliath). Strangely The Silent Ones had spent all their resources on equipment that improved their vision in the dark. The other Van Saar gang were mysteriously absent… … I wonder why those lights went out?
In the battle the Spinesbuster syndicate’s luck continued to be poor, in the first as Powerbomb and his gr***de launcher were taken captured by The Silent Ones, Spinebuster the leader, got revenge with a well-aimed headshot on Alrecht, but only succeeded in taking him out of action.
The Silent Ones prove that their tech gives them an advantage in the dark as they kill Gutwrench (Goliath champion) and then run off. A Goliath Juve bleeds out as the Enforcers fling flash gr***des about, one of them getting seriously injured for stepping into the line of fire.
The Enforcers and Goliaths rally in the centre of the zone and promptly get warmed up nicely by The Silent Ones’ flamers.
The monsters in the dark are attracted to an injured Van Saar and attempt to drag them off.
The Enforcers start to show their grit as a shredder shotgun shell takes down 3 unlucky Van Saar gangers.
The Enforcers and Goliaths make a desperate last push but are foiled once again by the Van Saar flamers, in an act of the Emperor’s mercy one of the Enforcers tries to put a burning hive scum (that had joined the Goliath’s) out of his misery but misses from pretty much point blank range.
The Silent Ones successfully survived the cold and dark, but why did it happen and what did they achieve?
That’s all folks, hope to see you at the club soon

Beeston is a bit rainy today, but nevertheless here is your weekly War and Peace Update.
Another quiet night with another game of General D’Armee 2 with the French and the Prussians facing off against one another. Further intense study of the rules proved necessary with confidence high that soon a game will be completed.
We also had a five faction game of Cthulhu Wars – Bubastis (Cats), Yellow Sign, Opener of the Way, Windwalker and Great Cthulhu fought over the earth with the assistance of some independent Great Old Ones and neutral monsters.
The Cats shot to an early lead in doom, but were targeted mercilessly by Windwalker and Great Cthulhu. Great Cthulhu managed an opportunistic assassination of Yog-Sothoth, also managing to grab a number of Opener’s gates before the use of Dragon Descending which resulted in Windwalker claiming victory.
Next week is the last cycle of our Necromunda campaign, who knows what new gaming journey we will embark upon
Hope to see you soon
WaP Chris

Yet another update from War & Peace gaming club here in sunny Beeston.
It was a quiet night this week, with just the 5th Cycle of the Necromunda campaign and an impressive game of General D’Armee 2.
The game of the new (to the club last week) General D’Armee 2 was spectacular, the forces lining up, manoeuvring and then meeting on the battlefield – reports are that grasp of the rules is improving every week.
There were two battles this week in the Necromunda campaign.
Planning to Enforce (Enforcers) finally tracked down The Silent Ones (Van Saar) in a battle where the winner was decided by the last gang standing, however it appeared there was an ammo shortage so despite the Van Saar struggling as their usually reliable ammo reserves started to run dry. In the end The Silent Ones were victorious denying Planning to Enforce’s efforts to wrestle one of their territories away. Can no one defeat The Silent Ones?
The Spinebreaker Syndicate (Goliath), Scum Inc (aka The Revolution – Hive Scum) and Charged Talon (Van Saar) were all tasked by a mysterious patron to clear a dome by to engage in a bit of Urban Renewel by destroying a structure at the centre of the board and running away before everything fell down on their heads. Charged Talon’s neotek Yannick surprised everyone by damaging the structure twice with a Las Pistol, much to the annoyance of the Van Saar Prime as the damage caused the whole dome to shake. This resulted in a piece of debris falling from above and knocking him off the building he was on to fall and injure himself.
Scum Inc’s Ambot slowly made it’s way to the structure and then failed to hit it when it was close enough. Once again Scum Inc’s flamers proved deadly for their opponents frying a couple of Van Saar gangers.
The Spinebreaker Syndicate’s shooting proved plentiful but inaccurate, but their superior numbers meant that more of them escaped the dome, which eventually collapsed, to brag about their efforts meaning their reputation received a significant boost and while Charged Talon were distracted they acquired their Sludge sea territory and some vacant Mine workings.
The last cycle of the campaign is on 2 weeks (22nd May) it looks like the Silent Ones are running away with things at the moment, but who knows what dark discussions may happen in the next couple of weeks between their rivals… …
Next week Cthulhu Wars will be at the club if you would like to join in there will be space for up to eight players. I will be bringing all 12 factions and we will be playing on the Earth Map with a selection of independent units available to recruit.
Hope to see you soon
WaP Chris

War & Peace reporting in with another weekly update of what we were up to this week.
The fourth cycle of our Necromunda campaign came to a close as the two Van Saar gangs squabbled over a Beast infested Tech bazaar (there were six Beast Lairs scattered over the map). The Silent Ones successfully drove off Charged Talon, who managed to complete their secret mission to assassinate the Silent Ones’s leader. He later recovered after a trip to the Doc.
Moonstone saw some action again as the combatants struggled to fight in and around a river.
There was also a game of General D’Armee 2 and another new game, the skirmish game Border Wars.
A great time all round
Hope to see you soon
WaP Chris

Hail War & Peace,
Another week, another update.
This week the brand new Tau codex was taken for a spin against the forces of Nurgle. A good game getting used to the Tau changes.
A poor cart driver struggled to get his delivery to it’s destination in a game of Hail Ceaser. The delivery looks deceptively like a 10 sided dice.
Hive Primus on Necromunda saw three border disputes as the gangs squabbled over territory in the St Barnabas’ Dome campaign. This sees the end of the Occupation phase as we go into downtime next week and the gangs lick there wounds, spend a windfall of credits and prepare to fight over the territories claimed so far.
Planning to Enforce and the Spinebuster syndicate (Goliaths) fought over some newly discovered tunnels. The Enforcers managed to claim them on behalf of Lord Helmwar for the right and proper use of the citizens of the Hive.
Some Hive scum got into an argument with the Van Saar gang, The Silent Ones over an exposed Toll Crossing which was successfully claimed by the well equipped Silent Ones. Will anyone be able to stop The Silent Ones accumulation of territories.
A second Van Saar gang (Charged Talon) came into conflict with The Delaque Gang 1 over some Mine Workings. A long and tiring battle was fought between the two gangs with the Delaque Nacht-Ghul causing havoc with their fletchette pistol and stiletto knife. Despite many fighters being taken out of action on both sides no serious injuries were sustained by anyone, just a lot of bumps and bruises as fighters headed into convalescence.
That is the end of this week’s report.
Hope to see you soon
WaP Chris

Hello to War & Peace Land
We had a good night on Wednesday with a big game of Cthulhu Wars on the Chilly Primeval Map. Sleeper, Opener of the Way, Yellow Sign, Windwalker and Tcho Tcho fought over a land slowly being covered by ice. The outcome was a draw between Tcho Tcho and Yellow Sign.
The Romans and the Barbarians were fighting again in Hail Ceaser as a Roman fort was assaulted in the time of Emperor Trajan.
Next week will see another Necromunda cycle with gangs battling in the underhive and who knows what else.
Hope to see you there
WaP Chris

Here is the news… from War & Peace
Games night this week saw lots of skirmish games played again.
We had Moonstone with catastrophes all over the place.
Rome was once again rocked by the violence of the gangs in the street in a Gangs of Rome game.
The second cycle of the Necromunda campaign for control of St Barnabas’ Dome started.
The mysterious Gang 1 (Delaque) fought valiantly to defend the cargo they were protecting but were ultimately overcome by the technologically advanced The Silent Ones (Van Saar). Though few in number the Van Saar’s superior armour and powerful weapons drove off Gang 1. The question was asked, who will be able to stop The Silent Ones’ rampage through St Barnabas’ Dome.
Planning to Enforce (Enforcers) received a tip off that the Iron Hounds (Orlock) were had a shipment that wasn’t entirely compliant with Lord Helmwar’s laws so they set off to investigate. Despite all the enforcers being less than seven days from retirement (the average length of an enforcer’s service is 7 days) they successfully seized the illicit goods from the Orlocks’ clutches.
The unlucky Spinebuster Syndicate (Goliath), still reeling from the loss of their Stimmer, Vertebreaker, in the previous battle were once again the victims of a trap. The Goliaths were ambushed by Scum Inc aka The Revolution (Hive Scum) who seeing an opportunity fell upon the Syndicate without mercy causing them further sorrows. One of the hive scum had brought a flamer and things got more than a little toasty for the Goliaths.
We are open for gaming next Wednesday (the 3rd of April) and I will be bringing Cthulhu Wars. Other games and table space are available.
Hope to see you there
WaP Chris

Hello War & Peace followers,
Another busy Wednesday this week, with the Gangs of Rome continuing to fight in the streets,
Some Necromunda book keeping was done following last weeks campaign games and The Van Saar Charged Talon Gang fending off The Orlock Iron Hounds in the final battle of the first campaign cycle.
We had some Kill Team action where the forces of Nurgle were mercilessly gunned down by the Kroot.
Finally we had a game of Evolution.
Hope to see you soon
WaP Chris

War & Peace update
The Gangs are taking over… …
The Roman citizenry were shocked and horrified by the outbreak of violence on their peaceful streets in some games of Gangs of Rome.
Some new fighters battled for the control of Moonstones
Our Necromunda campaign kicked off as five gangs and one brave patrol of enforcers fought over territory in the newly accessible part of the hive known as St Barnabas’s Dome. Two Van Saar gangs (Charged Talon and The Silent Ones) fought over some Smelting works, the Goliath gang (Spinebuster Syndicate) were mauled in an ambush by the Delaque gang, Gang 1 (Those sneaky Delaques with their deceptively straight forward gang name!) in a fighting pit. And the enforcer partol, Planning to Enforce, drove off a group of Hive Scum (Scum Inc aka The Revolution) and cleared out a Drinking Hole.
More Necromunda action in two weeks time.
Normal gaming will resume on Wednesday, hope to see you there
WaP Chris

Hello to War & Peace,
Wednesday saw us gather once again for the rolling of dice, the moving of little people/creatures about and lamenting our losses/celebrating our victories.
The Romans were back again, supported by their auxiliaries battling against the rampaging hordes in a couple of games of Hali Ceaser.
Some goblins squabbled with some humans over some moonstone (that looked a lot like 4-sided dice)
The hive of Necromunda saw action once again in the final battle before the start of our Necromunda campaign – the Battle for St Barnabas’ Dome – that starts next week. If you would like to join us come on down with a 1000 credit gang.
This week some Delaque and Van Saar gangers tried to defile one another’s relic, with neither succeeding in their goal and the Van Saar seeing of the Delaques with only one fighter remaining on the battlefield.
Hope to see you for some fun and games soon
WaP Chris

Greetings to all who follow War & Peace Games club.
This week we had the last of our regularly scheduled preparation games for our Necromunda campaign that will start on the 13th of March. If you would like to join in, come on down with a 1000 credit gang to discover the fate of your gang in our dominion campaign.
The Enforcers faced off against some Hive Scum in one game and the Van Saar defended a Goliath raid in another.
On another table the adeptus Mechanicus weathered the onslaught of the Tau guns.
In ancient times, preparations were made for the Gangs of Rome to battle against one another. Some impressive scenery was laid out (it wasn’t built in a day – thanks T)
Hope to see you next week for any game you might like to play – even though it isn’t a scheduled Necromunda week, we might see some final practice games. The battle for St Barnabas’s Dome will begin soon!
All the best
WaP Chris

Attention War & Peace!
This is your weekly report of the club’s Wednesday night activities.
We had a game of Wingspan, lots of birdie and egg action as habitats were populated and owls failed to catch rodents.
There was also some Legions Imperialis action with the Imperial Fists battling some Solar Auxillia with a force of knights that had gone wild.
The English and the Zulus were at it again in Black Powder Zulu.
Next week is the last of our skirmish Necromunda weeks, if you fancy joining us bring a 1000 point gang and join in the fun
WaP Chris

Salutations War & Peace,
Last Wednesday was Valentine’s day and the faithful few made it out to play some games.
The English and the Zulus were at it again in a game of Black Powder Zulu, the Zulu’s charged rapidly upon the English lines, to be met with disciplined fire.
A Goliath gang fought against some Enforcers in the underhive, a crafty enforcer sniper kept the Goliath’s heads down as they struggled to advance and get into hand to hand with their enemies. When the Goliaths eventually managed to close their physical prowess proved decisive.
There was also some Moonstone action in a peaceful little town as the two forces struggled over the pieces of moonstone that had fallen from the sky.
Hope to see you next week
All the best
WaP Chris

Hail War & Peacers,
Our gaming night on Wednesday had a lot of Games Workshop action, with a side helping of Warlord’s Black Powder
The Zulu’s still haven’t managed to finish of the English army, they do keep trying though.
We had two tables of Warhammer 40,000 with Death Guard fighting Adeptus Mechanicus on one and Tau fighting Space Marines on another.
Legions Imperialis saw some table time with a some beautiful scenery brought by one of our members. Some Blood Angels were fighting some Solar Auxillia.
Another game of Necromunda this week for the Van Saar, fighting a different Delaque gang, less successfully, bottling out, leaving the Delaque free run of the tunnels.
Next week is the second week of February so it is one of our guaranteed Necromunda weeks. We will be playing 1000 point skirmish games in preparation for the campaign starting the second Wednesday in March (the 13th)
Hope to see you soon
