In winter there are log fires and for the summer there is our Award winning garden to enjoy. The lovely ladies from Oakham Womens Institute braved the weather this morning to play a game of petanque here at The Wheatsheaf, Oakham. They then came indoors to dry off and have a spot of lunch with us. πHow very civilised. Hope you had a lovely day ladies. Thank you x

One way we help to do this is is on a Tuesday afternoon we allow members of the local U3A group to use our petanque court in our award winning garden. What a very lovely way to while the day away.
We are so honoured and thrilled to announce we have received a Gold award from Everards Spencer Memorial garden competition once more for the 9th year running. We are so incredibly happy!!π₯³πΎπ·βοΈ Thank you Everards for awarding us. πOnly 24 pubs received Gold this year out of 185 pubs. We are so honoured. We now await the next stage of competition in Sept. Rutland nursery Manton your stock of flowers are always so healthy. Big thank you to Ben Fawcett at Rutland Nursery for caring for the begonias again this year before we collect them.πΌππ»β£

A great turn out last night for the presentation, by our Chairman Rich Harris, of the Autumn Pub of the Season award to Dan and Kerry of the Wheatsheaf in Oakham. Congratulations to the whole wonderful team!
