The students loved having Lisa Sharp Sports Massage Therapist - Balancing Horse & Rider in for a lecture demo to give an insight into Equine Sports Massage yesterday! This linked to their Behaviour, Equitation and Rehabilitation modules π

This week some of our Level 3 Yr2 students had their first jumping lesson of the academic year and were absolutely flying! π
Our Level 3 First and Second year Students have been working hard in practical sessions recently with BHS Stage 4 Coach Michael Cannon.
Our first year students have been focusing on maintaining an accurate forward rhythm when riding while our second year students have been refining their long reining skills!

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Equine Instructor to join the existing team at Croft End - Reaseheath Equestrian College, until July 2024.
You will possess demonstrable industry experience and a minimum BHS Stage 3 Coach (BHSAI), ideally Stage 4 Coach (BHSII) and Level 2 Maths & English or equivalent (or willingness to work towards). A recognised Teaching Qualification at minimum CET level (or willingness to work towards this) is essential.
In return, Reaseheath College offers an excellent benefits package including:
π Generous pension scheme with 24.8% employer contribution (LGPS) and 23.68% (Teachers Pension)
π° Actual pro rata salary: Β£19,751.20 β Β£22,759.20 per annum
π Part time, 4 days per week (fixed term - until July 2024)

Whilst some of the students are away working at HOYS, the other students have been enjoying an industry development week. Theyβve had sessions on groundwork and horsemanship, veterinary physiotherapy, and rider biomechanics. They also had a show day where they prepared their horses for presentation and watched a dressage demo by π
Our 2nd years have enjoyed their ride sessions in the late afternoon sunshine. Today we have focused on rhythm and straightness, our horses were amazing as always and the students worked extremely hard. π΄ππ₯°

This week we held ride assessments for students starting with us in September. They started out on our fantastic equine simulator before riding one of our very own horses to get a taste for what itβs like here at Croft End.
Croft End strives to provide a setting that closely mirrors a real industry environment as a working livery yard and riding school.

Some of the students enjoyed a sunny day at Haydock races today learning about the care of racehorses, different roles in the industry and how to read a race card! π
Our level 2's have kicked off this weeks riding discussing the importance of allowing the horse to stretch and work in a longer frame as part of their schooling. They worked on maintaining rhythm and relaxation during the stretch along with the effect that rider balance can have.
