Kevin has some upcoming conventions over the next 2 months
First he’ll be at York international tattoo convention on June 22nd & 23rd (he’s fully booked for the weekend)
Then on July 13th & 14th he’ll be at Tattooed Planet at Bowlers Exhibition Centre (he is still looking for somebody to sit for a large piece over the 2 days)

In almost 5 years of being open we have only increased our prices once, through lockdowns and the cost of living crisis we’ve done what we can to absorb the increase in our expenses.

I’ve actually been writing an article for our blog about the different factors that go into pricing a tattoo and how it varies by location (usually in line with the local economy).

Part of the research for the article was reaching out to other artists to inquire about their hourly rates so that I could establish an accurate average for the area (I’ll get into that more in the blog).
Anyway turns out that while we’ve been doing our best to be considerate with our pricing we’ve dropped way below the average for the area.

So this is my long winded way of telling you all that from April 1st we’ll be increasing our prices to £70 per hour and day sessions (10am-5pm) will be £400
The new prices are still actually below the local average, I just don’t know that I can justify charging what some other studios in the area are charging (or how they justify it 😬)

All bookings made before April 1st (with a deposit paid) will still be the current prices even if booked for after April 1st (for customers with ongoing large scale work the prices won’t be increased until after those pieces are completed).

Piercing prices will remain the same.

Unfortunately, we have never considered and currently have no intention of accepting an apprentice. So instead of just continuing to politely turn everyone away I’ve taken the time to write up my advice and some of the things I wish I had known when I was starting out.
