This role, based in Omagh, Co Tyrone, is a full-time, permanent Management position for an individual with the ability to achieve and exceed quality, time and profitability targets. Previous Project Manager experience in the Civil Engineering Construction sector is essential, ideally managing concurrent projects.
As Construction Contracts Manager, reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for providing the link between Head Office and the on-site management teams, offering solutions where needed and making sure the design, programming, technical and safety aspects of projects are on schedule.
The suitable Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in managing Civils Construction projects, a Degree / Higher Diploma qualification in Engineering or Construction Management, be knowledgeable and confident in dealing with clients, relevant stakeholders and authorities,
have effective communication skills, supervision, and managerial skills, must be a strong team player and be able to work on own initiative, strong programming and reporting skills, able to support site staff in achieving deadlines and managing workload, have excellent IT skills including MS Office and MS Project. AutoCAD proficiency is an advantage and hold a valid CSR Site Supervisor/Manager's Card or SMSTS certificate·

Works are now complete at Broadway Flats Substation. The newly constructed substation is located at Broadway, Belfast and was completed for NIE Networks. Works included ground preparation and piling works, construction of new 6.6KV switch house with control room and associated ducting and inspection chambers, installation of new earthing grid for the substation, installation of fencing, drainage and groundworks finished with asphalt concrete surfacing.
This was a challenging site located in the car park of Royal Victoria hospital, adjacent to Children's Nursery Unit and at the side of the Clowney river meaning tight Environmental controls where required at all stages of the project to protect the local environment and habitats.

We are Hiring a Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The role will include implementation of the commercial management processes and procedures, from tender to final account including involvement in estimating, the bid process, review of contract documentation, control and monitoring of change in contracts as well as the management of claims and variation accounts, cash flow awareness along with accurate preparation of accounts in terms of cost/revenues and individual project financial statements.

In this position the candidate will play a pivotal role on our projects, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective management of resources, materials, and finances. The candidate will be a key part of our Management team and have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our continued success.

The suitable candidate will have:
BSc in Quantity Surveying
A minimum of 5 years post graduate experience preferably with a Main Contractor in the Construction / Civil Engineering sector.
Knowledge of current forms of Contract
Strong Time Management Skills

We at W&H Alexanders are very saddened at the passing of our founding member, devoted Father/ Grandfather & close friend William (Billy) Alexander. We are heartbroken over his untimely passing. Although Billy retired many years ago, he was still a much-loved active part of the community, and a warm greeting presence always awaited you whether he was out & about or just around the office & yard based in Glenhordial. Billy’s Jolly humour, infectious laugh and worldly wisdom will be sorely missed by everyone. The Family & Staff wish to express their deepest gratitude to everyone who has helped over the last few days, from callers to the house, to condolences & tributes paid, phone calls & messages received, to neighbours, friends & well-wishers it has all been very much appreciated.
A special warm Thank You to everyone who attended and took part in Billy’s Funeral Service on Wednesday, it was heart-warming to see how highly respected, loved and well thought off Billy was to all. May Billy Rest in Peace.

We were delighted to host CITB NI Women in Construction Group at Ballykeel Wind Farm. Following induction and a presentation on the project the group enjoyed a tour of the site followed by lunch and networking.
Thanks to our client Ørsted and turbine supplier ENERCON for assisting during the visit

Reinstatement works have now finished at Lisheen III Wind farm and handover completed to Ørsted. The contract involved the construction of site roads, 8 turbine bases including 2 piled bases, 8 turbine hardstands along with crane assist pads and blade laydown areas, installation of culverts, installation of cable ducting and visibility splays at the site entrance. Off site works included the realignment and reinstatement of areas along the route from port to enable turbine delivery.

Ardstraw Central - Phase 1 complete.
Phase 1 of our contract with NIE Networks at Ardstraw Central Substation is now complete. Works on site included the installation of new substation building, installation of transformer bund, installation of transformer protection wall, installation of drainage around site, installation of lighting towers and realignment of existing fence line to incorporate the new buildings. Finally external landscaping of the site was completed at entrance and along the site boundary.
