A wise person once said all good things come to an end!
When we opened almost 7 years ago, the aim was to create a place that served the best coffee. It feels like what we created is so much better than that. It feels like a community! We are so grateful you made that happen! However it is unfortunately time for us to move on. I say unfortunately but we are proud to be able to make this step. Your support has literally always been incredible. Thank you so much. It is just time to go and take on some new challenges.
Our last day is June 3rd, of course we are having a party! I really hope you can all join us for a drink so we can tell you how much we love you! We have got knock and snitch hired from 5pm just please come before I get too drunk and embarrass myself as usual. Please just drop me a message if you can make it so that I have an idea of numbers 🥳
Oh and don’t stress, the place is going to continue. It is still going to serve great coffee and you will be in great hands! I will share more info on the new guys in the next couple of days!
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
We are looking for four artists from Oswestry and the border community to participate in ART-efact from June through to September 2023. Artists will have a unique opportunity to have paid time to work intimately with the collections and archives at Oswestry Town Museum or the Town Council. They will work with local people to develop a body of work and ideas to bring alive Oswestry’s history, heritage and culture. ART-efact will culminate in an iconic group exhibition for the 2023 Heritage Open Days programme, themed ‘Creativity Unwrapped’.
How Do I Apply?
To apply for the ART-efact residency, artists should submit a CV, address, 6 images of their work, and a cover letter providing details about their practice, why they would like the opportunity to work with the Town Council archives or the Oswestry Town Museum (specifying which resource you would prefer to work with) and how it will benefit your own development. Please also indicate if there is a particular subject matter you would like to research as a part of the residency i.e Geology, Social and industrial, Decorative and Ceramic, Historical/Heritage, LGBTQ, Military or a specified other.
Artists are expected to work the equivalent of 15 days over the course of the 3 months project in return for a fee of £2,835 with an additional material stipend of £500 for a Heritage Open Day Festival exhibition in September 2023.
We encourage applications from all communities and creative disciplines. Please send applications to [email protected] by Sunday 7th May at 11.59pm. Applicants must be 18 or over.

6 years! Wow!
What a ride it’s been. I’d say the last few weeks have been the most challenging so far! Trying to run a small business while dealing with losing somebody close to you is tough going. On top of that, a key member of staff went off on her travels and have had to search for a new businesses to colab with.
It’s been crazy but your support has always been incredible. The last two months have been the busiest we have ever had!
I’m looking forward to putting some focus back into the business and making sure our 7th year is the best one yet!
Thanks for being the most incredible customers! It’s a pleasure to serve you everyday ☺️
It’s been a week of goodbyes. And today we say goodbye to
To say our journey with them has been a rollercoaster would be abit of understatement. It’s been one well of a ride and we wish them all the success possible in the future.
For us it’s been a pleasure to support another local business in their growth and we are very much looking forward to that happening again. We will let you know early next week who is coming in next to take up the reins but first we have a few beers to drink!
Thank you it’s been a pleasure. You have given us a lifetime of memories ❤️
The perfect little shop to while away an afternoon… 🌞
Here are three reasons why it’s a great idea to pay us a visit:
👌 We stock the work of over 50+ local artists and creators (meaning everything you buy is unique to Shropshire and Wales).
👌 We’re super chatty and love to talk about all things art, homeware and crafty things.
👌 Our store is a smorgasbord of colour and charm, recently refurbished, and a lovely way to pass a morning or afternoon.
Will we be seeing you here soon? We’re open from 10am to 3:30pm Wednesday to Saturday every week.
Due to personal circumstances we will be closed today sorry x
The price of everything is going up!! 😩 But I just wanted to let you know that our prices haven’t! 😇
One of the best things about running this place is working with like minded people. We are lucky enough to have suppliers that want to produce the best quality product they can and give you the best possible value. They don’t have corporate shareholders to please and neither do we 🥳
It’s inevitable the prices will go up at some point. But rest assured we are enjoying the challenge of keeping the price down and will always aim to give you best possible value 😘
Got to make Paddy the Baddy a brew today! ☺️

WOULD JUBILEE’VE IT?! 👀 This Friday we’ve got British cocktails, British music and a cocktail competition to wet your appetite this jubilee weekend 😍 no booking required!
Our pay it forward scheme is possibly one of the most rewarding things about Liar Liar.
When starting it I did have my doubts about the affect it may have on the shop. I can honestly say it’s been a massive success and genuinely helped people through some tough situations.
At the moment we are feeding more people than we ever have. We will never turn anybody away and I know money is tight for everyone right now but if you can spare anything and help, it would be much appreciated! 😘
