A study exploring how LGBTQ+ people think about being LGBTQ+ and thinking positively about yourself

29/08/2023

Hi! I'm Eve (she/her) and I am currently running a research project as part of my doctorate in Clinical Psychology. We are looking for participants to complete an online questionnaire to help us discover how we can improve mental health interventions for LGBTQ+ people. We are hoping to learn more about how past negative experiences relating to being LGBTQ+ can impact on beliefs LGBTQ+ people hold about themselves and being LGBTQ+. We would also like to learn whether being able to think kindly about the self can change how LGBTQ+ people are impacted by past experiences.

Everyone who is LGBTQ+ is welcome to take part, but we are especially hoping to hear from more trans people who are heterosexual so that we can increase the voices of people with different experiences.

If you or anyone you know are interested in learning more about taking part you are welcome to follow the link below to access further information and the questionnaires:

Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions 😊

Completing the questionnaires will take approximately 20 minutes, and some participants will also have the option to take part in an additional hour-long one-to-one interview, which will be held over MS teams.

We are researchers at the University of Oxford looking for participants to complete an online questionnaire to help us discover how we can improve mental health interventions for LGBTQ+ people.

We are hoping to learn more about how LGBTQ+ people think about being LGBTQ+, and whether being able to think positively about yourself helps this. You do not need to live in Oxford to take part in this study and all information provided will be anonymised.

Completing the questionnaires will take approximately 20 minutes. Some participants will also have the option to take part in an additional hour-long one-to-one interview, which will be held over MS teams.

If you are interested in taking part you are welcome to follow the link below to access further information and the questionnaires:
