Meet Joe Tacon, the coach who seems like a 130kg powerhouse somehow compressed into an 80kg body. Inhumanly strong with shins that feel like iron bars, Joe's here to make sure you'll feel every bit of it in sparring!

Meet Our Coaches: Barbara Hale

Introducing Barbara Hale, our women’s head coach and one of the most technical practitioners on the mats! Don't let her small size fool you—Barbara’s precision and skill make her a force to be reckoned with, whether she's leading our women’s classes or taking charge in mixed sessions.

Her list of accomplishments speaks for itself: IBJJF European Championship Bronze (2023), UAEJJF Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Champion (2019), UAEJJF British National Pro Champion (2019), and IBJJF Copenhagen Open Silver (2018).

When she’s not teaching flawless technique, Barbara’s usually reminding everyone that good things come in small, lethal packages.

Meet Our Coaches: Andrew Ayres

Need advice on the mats or in life? Look no further than Andrew Ayres, the gym’s unofficial dad and fountain of wisdom. With a background in Judo and countless competition wins under his belt, Andrew’s the go-to guy when you need guidance, encouragement, or just a solid game plan.

Despite his fatherly role, Andrew still competes like a machine, racking up medals left and right! His record includes IBJJF European Championship 2024 Silver, IBJJF World Masters Championship 2023 Gold , and many more titles stretching back to blue belt days.

Whether you're seeking advice or motivation, Andrew's always ready to lend a hand (and maybe a life lesson or two).

Evening classes are running as normal.

We have a wrestling class every Friday. Just bring shorts and t-shirt or leggings and compression top.

If you’re stepping into our gym for a beginners' trial class, chances are the first face you’ll see is the ever-friendly Liam Finch. With his signature Northern charm and a great sense of humor, Liam makes sure that learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is as fun as it is effective.

Running our beginners' classes, Liam’s all about keeping the atmosphere light, the techniques sharp, and the laughs plenty. So, whether you're here to train hard or just enjoy a good joke, Liam’s got you covered.

Meet Our Coaches: Enzo Honório Brunatto

Say hello to our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu assistant coach, Enzo Honório Brunatto.

Enzo is no stranger to success, winning Gold at the IBJJF London International 2022 and Bronze at the IBJJF European Championship 2023. His dedication doesn't stop at competition. He helps assist our Monday beginners' class with the perfect mix of skill, patience, and humour.

Fun fact: Despite sharing a suspiciously similar bone structure with our head coach, they swear they’re not related!
