This Sunday @ 7pm weāre delighted to welcome Wrensong to SWB for their first gig under their newly formed name.
Wrensong are a new pop/soul duo based in West London creating original songs full of strong hooks and creative turns of phrase. The pair met while studying at the Royal Academy of Music. Channelling influences from the jazz tradition through Motown to John Mayer and beyond, they produce powerful melodies and grooves that burst through the acoustic format of piano and vocals. Expect emotive songs about love, friendship, belonging, and freedom. Maddie and Ed are working on their first EP to be released in 2025.

Our party trick is extricating 30 year old corks without breaking them or losing chunks.
What does a cork do? Natural corks seal the bottle of wine but are semi-permeable, allowing for a gentle interface between the wine and air. Over long periods, this allows a slow oxygenation of the wine, creating the yummy effects of ageing, including development of tertiary flavours and diminishing acidity, tannins and alcohol levels. With the right conditions for maturation (lying horizontal, consistently cool temperatures, not being jiggled about too much), the cork will show where the wine has gradually diffused up towards the end of the bottle, seen here in the almost black discolouration of the cork. Wines meant for long ageing will tend to have longer corks, so that it will take more time for the whole cork to get soggy and crumble.
More incredible live music scheduled in this Sunday at 7pm. We are thrilled to welcome the Claire Jones Jazz Ensemble
