Classes start back on Wed 21st August. Beginners 6.15pm to 7.15pm - General class 7.30pm to 8.45pm. At The White House Hall, 20 Neilston Road, Paisley, PA2 6 LN. It's a modern hall to the right of the old church.

Our breathing is a powerful way for us to regulate our emotions, and it is something we take for granted. Through your breath, you can activate your parasympathetic nervous system (PNS)—the calming response in your body.
One of the most calming breathing exercises you can do is to breathe in (e.g., to a count of four), hold, and then breathe out for up to twice as long (e.g., to a count of six or eight). You can gently constrict your throat, making a sound like the ocean, which is used in deep relaxation breathing. As you’re doing this, especially thanks to those long exhales, you’re activating the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing your heart rate and blood pressure.

IMPORTANT NOTICE. The hall where the classes take place has been sold and i’ve had to find accommodation at very short notice. I’ve managed to make temporary arrangements for the last 2 weeks of this block (17th and 24th July). Classes will take place in the church hall directly across from the King Street Hall (Paisley West Church) but as it’s not available till 7pm I’ve had to combine both classes for the next 2 weeks. The combined class will take place from 7pm till 8.30pm. If this a problem for you please contact me directly.

After a long wet winter Spring is on its way. As well as lighter mornings and lighter evenings there are signs everywhere of nature awakening. Spring is a good time to start afresh so why not set an intention to be present. We can cultivate being present in our asana and pranayama practice by being focused and engaged and we can then take this with us as we move through our daily lives. yoga
