Most landlords in Peterborough do not accept a tenant who is claiming benefits - I also found there was a huge stigma that private landlords associated with Care Leavers, Asylum Seekers and the Homeless leaving this vulnerable Cohort very limited housing options.

We housed our first 5 residents in our first ever benefit sustainable provision today. More practically this means that their rent is 100% covered by the Local Housing Allowance - deeming it affordable for the tenant.

Our next HMO nearly complete - Fire Doors are in. Emergency lighting and hard wire smoke alarms installed and all other regulatory requirements met all ready for the first 4 tenants to move in on Monday

We really enjoyed working with Mears Group and Up the Garden Bath on this project. The lads haven’t stopped smiling. This is what partnership work looks like!

The Mears Foundation recently awarded a grant to Mears Group Peterborough Branch to support the project Up The Garden Bath.

Up the Garden Bath is a not-for-profit organisation which takes old and discarded materials such as bathtubs and upcycles them into ready-made garden planters and accessories.

On the 24th of March, the grant supported the bath recycling project that provided the opportunity for tenants from Sheltered Housing Fellowship to learn new skills and use the planters to grow herbs and vegetables, to be used in their kitchens.

One of our tenants has just moved into their new flat and given birth to a beautiful girl, Ebony-Rose. Jade moved into the Fellowship nearly 10 months ago along with Aiden, her boyfriend (also one of our tenants)

Supported Accommodation provided them the stability they needed to build a solid foundation for their future - housing really affects all aspects of a persons life.

We are incredibly excited for what the future brings at the Fellowship. We visited our newest addition and HQ based in Wisbech the other day which is a beautiful detached house - previously operated as a assisted Care Home by the North Cambridgeshire NHS Trust.

They say moving home is one of the most stressful experiences to overcome - now imagine the level of emotions some of our new tenants would endure when they move into a Fellowship home for the first time. For the most part, this is the first time in many years they are moving into a home.

We try to make this transition as gentle as possible. Arrange taxis for them, ensure there is enough food in the fridge and most importantly greet them with a lovely cuppa tea and cake.

We have just created a new opportunity for a driven Head of Operations to join the team.

Working as part of both the senior management you will contribute to and lead the development and transition of new services and project as well deliver support to our tenants.

Welcome to the family Tomasz. We met Tomasz today at the Garden House along with colleagues from Peterborough City Council. He was incredibly happy with his ground floor room and said that the room “was the best he’s ever had”.

That was a very special moment indeed!

Absolutely buzzing for our tenant Pete who dreamt of having his own mobility scooter. Some very kind gentleman donated two scooters today - we gave one to Pete who was over the moon. This is exactly what Supported Housing is about. Thank you to the 3 Pillars for facilitating this donation.
