Due to a number of recent enquiries I am posting for clarity. As a company, Community Mosaic CIC has a policy not to hire to religious or political groups on an ongoing weekly or monthly basis as we cannot be seen to be supportive of any one kind of worship or any one political party. Enquiries for one off events are welcome from these groups but all regular monthly or weekly group meeting enquiries will be politely declined.
Thank you

🚨❤️ New Community Defibrillator installed at Walton Community Centre ❤️🚨

A new community defibrillator has recently been installed at Walton Community centre close to two schools in the area. This was made possible by the power of a remarkable joint fundraising effort between Empowering Arts Support And Social Group and the Kite School of Kenpo Karate, both of which meet at the centre on Mountsteven Avenue in Walton. The Brotherhood Foundation were the final support needed in order to make the dream of a community defibrillator a reality.

Allison Norris of Empowering Arts Support & Social Group said “we are very proud of our group in their endeavours. We offer a variety of activities on Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays for adults with additional needs. The Kite School of Kenpo Karate offer lessons for all abilities, meeting on a Wednesday evening from 6pm to 7pm and a Saturday mornings 11am to 12 noon.”

Steve Pinning of The Kite School of Kenpo Karate added “there were many different activities undertaken by both groups including a sponsored walk undertaken by people of all abilities, some of whom have limited mobility. Also we attended various local car boot sales which raised funds for this very valuable community asset . This will save lives.”

The new community defibrillator has been installed on an outside wall at Walton Community Centre where both of the groups meet. The building is managed by Community Mosaic CIC who are delighted that the two user groups have worked together with The Brotherhood Foundation to bring this life saving equipment to Walton. Christine Cunningham of Community Mosaic said “the community benefits of these defibrillators are immeasurable. They are listed on a database available to 999 operators who can direct members of the public to their nearest one and will guide them through the procedures for use. They are also available to community centre users with verbal instructions from the machine itself. I am really proud of all the people who came together to raise money for this vital piece of equipment and would like to thank them on behalf of the whole community in Walton.

The two groups fundraised a good portion of the cost of the defibrillator and then The Brotherhood Foundation Charity stepped in to fill the gap. The charity was set up in memory of Glenn Boocock who sadly died three years ago in Peterborough. It is run by Gavin Harrison, Jamie Harrison & Damien Woods. To date the Brotherhood Foundation has raised enough money for the installation of more than ten defibrillators around the Peterborough area in the three years since it’s formation.

Please note change to booking procedure - all bookings for hires for parties/celebrations as of today will incur a returnable deposit of £50 which will be forfeited should there be an overstay on time booked and/or any cleaning over and above what we would generally expect. This will be in addition to paying in advance for the hall hire. Unfortunately in recent weeks we have had multiple occasions where hirers think it is perfectly fine to overstay but not let us know so we are being left to wait around for anything up to an hour after the end of a booking to allow the hirer to clear up. I write this whilst sitting in the car doing just that tonight! If time is needed over and above 15 minutes either side of the booking, it must be booked and paid for. Please ensure you book enough time to set up for your event and to leave the building ready for the next hirer. I’m so sorry I’ve had to implement this but I can no longer rely on trust.
