We're absolutely thrilled to announce that our artist in residence, Richard, has been honoured with an illustrious The Starts Award! 🏆 This exceptional accolade celebrates emerging talent in the realms of Visual Art & Spoken Word, specifically within the UK Armed Forces community.

Founded by the visionary Sue Brodie, the STARTS Award aims to bridge the gap between amateur and professional creative practice. It offers an invaluable platform for artists to not only showcase their work but also to cultivate their skills beyond the amateur sphere. What makes this award so unique is its emphasis on the transformative power of art and creative practice on wellbeing and mental health—a mission that we at Social Echo wholeheartedly endorse.

Richard’s art will be on display at the Comme Ca gallery, located in the renowned Lowry Hotel in Manchester, until the 7th of November 2023. We strongly encourage everyone to experience his captivating work first-hand.

Congratulations, Richard, on this well-deserved accolade! Your contribution to the artistic community and its intersection with social and mental health matters is truly inspiring. 🎨🎉

🛩️🔧 Historic Rebuild Underway! 🔧🛩️

An extraordinary piece of British history is being brought back to life. A dedicated team is meticulously reconstructing the forward fuselage of the iconic Short Stirling bomber aircraft from World War II!

Their mission is to fill an unfortunate gap in the annals of our aviation history. As of now, no original Stirling, the RAF's very first four-engined 'heavy' bomber of the second world war, exists on display. This team is aiming to change that narrative, ultimately donating their painstaking project to the renowned RAF Museum for all to behold.

This enthusiastic crew is utilising every authentic part that they can find, and fearlessly crafting new parts when original ones are out of reach. They are currently nestled in their Folksworth workshop, but are planning a move to a larger workspace in Offord D’Arcy in the coming months.

Here's the part where you can get involved - they are on the hunt for passionate volunteers! Whether you are free on Saturdays, or could potentially pop in mid-week (providing another volunteer can be found for the same day), they would be thrilled to welcome you into their ranks.

So, if you're fascinated by aviation history, and fancy rolling up your sleeves to be part of a project that's rewriting the history books, reach out to them today! 📨

Social Echo is thrilled to to be involved in the ground-breaking health inequalities project in partnership with Huntingdonshire District Councill and funded by the Integrated Care System. We are proud to be working alongside recognised community groups across the district to develop innovative solutions to address the health challenges faced by residents in the area.

The project aims to make significant strides in improving health outcomes for all individuals and addressing inequalities in access to care.

At Social Echo, we are committed to creating positive change in the communities we serve, and we are excited to be a part of this initiative. We look forward to sharing updates on our progress and working with our partners to create lasting impacts on the health and wellbeing of local residents.

Yesterday, joined by Cllr Ben Pitt we held a face-to-face meeting for all groups involved in our Health Inequalities Project! It was a brilliant turnout, with lots of happy faces discussing the projects they have launched in their areas.

Are you interested in learning about the circular economy and how it can help with the climate emergency.

The circular economy is fundamentally different from the current ‘take-make-waste’ linear system that we follow. It encourages us to rethink the way we design, make, use and ‘dispose’ of things.

Join us on our free 2 hour course to learn more about it.

5th October 1pm - 3pm
