Good morning everyone, we had a very special visitor yesterday. The one and only Ian Campbell came in for a pint of Fools Nook. We were grateful for the words of wisdom from this legendary Skipper Chef Patron 💪🏻🧑🏻‍🍳👌🏻🙏🏻, simply wonderful to see him back in this beautiful Pub! A genuine treat for us and all the locals

Just a quick update on our telephone number situation...

We unfortunately have been advised that we cannot get our hands on the existing Skipper phone number, Booooo!

Please don't worry though as we have a plan...

So if our lovely guests could use the below Mobile number to get in touch with us for the time being, that would be very much appreciated.

Or at least until we win our Arm wrestling competition with our phone company on getting a shining new number that works!

STUNNING 'SPRINGTIME' ARTWORK FOR SALE! 😍👌

As those of you that have visited us will already know, we have supported local artists with the display and sale of their artworks.
One of those lovely artists is Nikki Wheatley, who actually lives here in Ashton.

The stunning and unique 'Springtime' is shown here. It is a completely unique and hand made felted picture. It is a stunning exhibition quality piece.

The overall size of the frame is 66cm wide x 74cm high.

The frame was created as a bespoke display for the artwork, and consist of an aluminium backing with polished acrylic covers, which are fixed with brushed aluminium fixings. The depth of the frame is 6cm.

With the sad closing of The Skipper, this fabulous artwork needs a new home - urgently.

The original price for this artwork was £645. However, as Nikki is keen to re-home this artwork by 31st March '23, she is offering this piece for a sale price of £375 each.

It is with deepest regret and a heavy heart that as of today (Tuesday 21st March 2023) The Chequered Skipper will no longer be open.

Unfortunately, after 4 months of correspondence with the current Landlord and owner, we have been unsuccessful with our bid for the take over of the lease from the previous tenant.

That tenant has given notice and we have no other option than to close the doors.

To all of our customers and clients, we want to thank you for your support and custom.

To anyone that has booked an event in this coming year we will be contacting you privately.

We wish everyone the best for the future and to all of our wonderful staff it has been a total pleasure working with you.
