We were told by the customer that it was terracleaned not long ago, I've always been sceptical on terra-clean and this 2.2 Transit was supposed to have been done just over a week ago, judge for yourselves.

Once removed, we found a number of issues. Inlet manifold seals had been blown out, the inlet ports on the head were thick with carbon, the EGR bolts were finger tight causing blow-by on the rear gasket, and the EGR itself was thick with carbon sludge. While the inlet is off, we will be replacing the 4 glow plugs, cleaning the inlet manifold and the EGR system including the valve itself, and treating it to new seals and gaskets.

Something a little different that we did many years ago

Mercedes C220 in for a full service and check over, respective service reset using the most up to date diagnostic software. There's not much we won't do or take on

So we had this little beauty in for rear pads. We only use quality parts, supplied and fit genuine pads straight from Ocean.

These were and still are (in my opinion) a cool set of wheels from back in the day. We don't just repair cars, but we like the little tasks like this too.

This is not what you want to see in the oil feed pipes and flow reducer on a turbo that's very recently been changed!! 😳

BMW 116 twin power turbo.

Excessive loss of coolant, found to be leaking from coolant feed pipe seals going to the turbo.
2nd leak also developing from coolant feed pipe going to the head. The slight pink staining of anti freeze was the giveaway. As you can see in the picture of the double ended joining pipe, there is a slight split in the sealing rubber. Genuine seal kit ordered and fitted. No more leaks

Mini Cooper S Supercharged

Complaint of lack of heat, occasional boil over. After initial checks, the radiator was leaking and the thermostat wasn't operating. After changing both the radiator and thermostat things were better but still not right, further checks uncovered a failed headgasket.
While the engine was out, customer also had a new clutch and flywheel fitted at the same time.
After putting it back together, car ran up to temp perfectly, no over heating and boiling hot heat coming from the vents.

S Max in for an engine swap after a coolant hose burst killing the heart of this much loved car by its customer.
Replacement engine found, new cambelt and waterpump fitted, finished off with a service, for less than what they were quoted just for an engine swap by another garage.

BMW X3. After discussions with the customer regarding installation of rear seats in to their van, they mentioned another car that they had, and were experiencing issues with. I offered to take a look to help diagnose the fault.
The car had been and had work carried out by another business, that work was a timing chain kit supplied and fitted. Not long after the customer got their car back, there were issues. Customer gave the other garage opportunity to rectify problems, the main problem being a considerable oil leak. Car went back to the garage 3 times, each time leaving but never actually being resolved properly.
So it was dropped up, we inspected it and found the problem, amongst other horrors.
Only the upper half the chain kit was replaced
There was no evidence of the sump being removed to do this job.
Headgasket was damaged from where the timing chain case was forced back in to place.
The leak had been attempted to be sealed with sealer and some form of resin.
The list was quite large, and to have to give someone that kind of news was hard, especially as they had just paid a substantial, but reasonable price (If it was done right) for the work to be done.
We pulled the engine, and began the strip down, clean and reassemble with all new parts required. Refitted the engine and went through the final checks.
Car was road tested, checked and double checked again then handed back to the customer happier than when they had left it with us.

Customer Complaint.

1, Excessive oil consumption.
Upon inspection oil was found to be leaking out of the oil cooler housing.
New genuine gaskets fitted. No more leak.

2, Rattling on start up.
Rocker cover removed to uncover one very lucky customer. Multiple timing chain guides had failed!! Very lucky!!
New timing chain kit, checkover and service carried out
