We are please to confirm that Covid vaccination appointments at the local vaccination centre at the Staddy Function Room are now available to book for people eligible for a Covid vaccination.

People aged 75 years and older, and those aged 18 years and older with a weakened immune system will be able to book appointments. Children under the age of 18 with a weakened immune system can book a vaccination appointment at the Home Park vaccination centre.

We are aware that there is a technical issue with the National Booking Service and the clinics being offered by Mewstone PCN (Dean Cross, Church View, Yealm and Wembury surgery) are not showing on their website/booking service. Our PCN manager is working with external organisations to resolve this issue. Please bear with us. Mewstone PCN is offering vaccines up to and including 8 June, so plenty of time to get your appointment booked!

You may have noticed our new defibrillator in the recreation ground. It is now live and on The Circuit (the British Heart Foundation register). We are very grateful for the grant we received from The British Heart Foundation and Cllr Hart from Devon County Council who funded the purchase of the defibrillator. Wembury Parish Council paid for the installation, which comes from the money we get from our precept. So that's thanks to all you wonderful residents of Wembury Parish.

The number of patients in hospital with norovirus is 61% higher than during the same period last winter.

If you have been invited or are eligible for COVID-19 vaccination, a walk-in session will be available at Plymstock Community Centre on December 16th. No booking is required. Last minute changes may occur to the walk-in services.

Did you borrow non-invasive ventilation or CPAP equipment from the hospital and no longer need it? The chest clinic is running an equipment amnesty month in August. Please return the equipment to the main outpatients reception on level 6, next to Lloyds Pharmacy. No judgment, no questions asked.

We know that a small number of patients keep hold of our equipment “just in case” they need it in the future. If patients have any concerns, we would ask them to raise them with their GP, hospital consultant or the clinic staff. We also lose equipment because relatives don’t know what to do with it when a patient has passed away. You can call the team on 01752 433024 if you have any questions.
