Plymouth is home to one of the oldest lighthouses in the world, Smeaton's Tower, originally built in 1759!

John Smeaton, the pioneering civil engineer, designed this iconic lighthouse, which stood on the Eddystone Reef for over a century before being relocated to Plymouth Hoe in 1882.

It's an engineering marvel that has guided countless sailors safely through treacherous waters.

Smeaton’s Tower is a testament to innovative 18th-century engineering and a symbol of Plymouth’s rich maritime heritage.

Visitors can climb the 93 steps to the lantern room, where spectacular panoramic views of the city and Plymouth Sound await.

St Austell Brewery are excited to announce that The Edgcumbe Arms, located in Cremyll, is reopening today under new management!

This cherished Cornish pub, situated beside the River Tamar and the historic grounds of Mount Edgcumbe, has been awaiting new proprietors since its closure in October 2023.

Dan C***s and Viki Roberts, who have previously managed the White Horse in Launceston for a year, are now stepping in to steer the 18th-century establishment in South East Cornwall.

They're eager to collaborate with the community to bring forth a selection of foods, beverages, and events tailored to the locals’ preferences!

Not only will you be working alongside other like-minded local professionals in beautiful surroundings, we’ll also be giving everyone a complimentary gingerbread latte, mince pies and chocolatey goodies to make sure you have all the motivational snacks and drinks you need for a fun, productive day of work!

Santa Claus is coming to town 🎶

Join us on Saturday 18th November at Royal William Yard to spot Santa as he takes a tour of Plymouth’s coastline as part of the Barbican Christmas light switch on🎅

Setting sail from the RNLI station at 4:20pm, Santa’s boat will make a stop at Royal William Yard Marina before setting sail again for the Barbican ⛴️

You can then catch him again a little later at the Yard’s main gates, when he returns by bus at 6:10pm 🎄

Why not make an evening of it; stop by one of the Yard’s resident eateries for a warming meal or cheeky hot chocolate 🎁
