Scenic walk down to Mothecombe Beach 🏖️

Did you know most of our holiday properties are a short distance to the beach. We have a choice of 3 sandy beaches to explore including Mothecombe, Coastguards & Wonwell beach on the other side of the estuary.

Another beautiful supper club at Mothecombe Gardens hosted by with all local produce and beef from the estate

Before dinner we hosted a farm tour, over 40 people attended the walk which was supported by our fantastic ecologists . We discussed the measure that have been put in place to bring more wildlife back into the farm such as scrub planting, new hedge rows, pond digging & leaky dams.

After passing the cattle we discussed our mob grazing system that we do on the estate, followed by some delicious Flete Mob Ruben sandwiches.

We did it! Coastguards Beach is now an official Bathing Water. An important step to help protect this special and cherished environment. The Environment Agency will now be responsible for monitoring water quality at this popular swimming spot. Thank you to everyone involved along the way that made this possible. www.ermeriver.org

The perfect way to spend your birthday enjoying the beautiful view from your window and cooking/boiling the Kettle on top of the fire 🔥 a nice cup of tea to go with the birthday cake 🎂

The beach house is available for daily hire from 10.30am until anytime in the evening, we provide the crockery, frying pan, cooking utensils etc.

As part of the process to see Coastguards Beach become a new designated bathing water site (one of 27 new sites across the country), there is now a two week consultation process before the formal designation by the government.

Please share this with any friends who like to swim in the sea! If this designation goes ahead it will provide further ammunition to tackle the water quality of the River Erme.

And a huge well done to those leading the campaign to see this designation too including WATER “Wild About The Erme River” and the Flete Estate!

A few months ago, I was asked to write in support of the campaign to get Coastguards Beach at Mothecombe designated as bathing water which I did.

Really pleased to see that today, Coastguards Beach is one of 27 sites around the country to make it to consultation stage ahead of formal designation by the government.

Well done to all those who have worked hard to get this far, particularly WATER "Wild About The Erme River" and the Flete Estate.

Help needed!! Bathing Water Designation for Coastguards Beach on the River Erme - last stage of application......

As part of the process to see Coastguards Beach become a new designated bathing water site (one of 27 new sites across the country), there is now a two week consultation process before the formal designation by the government and we need your help!! We need as many people as possible to complete the consultation to strengthen our application.

Head to the link below and complete the survey - it takes less than 10 minutes and closes March 10th.

Success will mean the Environment Agency are required to monitor water quality here and take steps to improve it if it falls below standard. This will play an important role in protecting water users and the environment around the River Erme.
