Cutting Clay

Hello lovely people,

I've been working away in the background for a wee while now.
Never content with the status quo, i've been looking for ways to improve my designs and will be sending out a sample from my latest design methods included with your orders.
The equipment I have invested in this year provides me with the best resolution, accuracy, repeatability and quality I have ever had. Why would I settle for anything less for my valued customers. :)

Using this technology, I'm able to push the design features to the limit, which will provide you with several benefits.

1- I've factored in a slight 0.5 degree draft angle to the inner face, this will give you an easier clay release.

2- The cutting edge is now between 0.2 and 0.3 mm, the thinnest yet! I haven't seen anything matching this in the cutter suppliers I test from. (Yes, I do still compare against the competition) ;)

3- The anti-aliasing SLA printer technology i use will give you smoother walls, proving you with a super clean cut, sharper detail and reduced sanding time and waste.

I had originally designed one of these for my lovely wife Be Creative Jewellery , her input and clay skills for trialling have been invaluable.

Constellation Stamps.😎
Very finely designed from scratch with great care taken to ensure the sizing of the stars scaled within each stamp to match their brightness in the night sky.

This beautiful set of 12 stamps comes in it's own magnetically latched box with each stamp held safely in it's own pocket.

Two options are available for these, with and without the name indentation.

Each stamp has a button indicating it's orientation to ensure that you can lay it out correctly on your clay, or by all means go freestyle.

Instructions for use are within the listing including pictures of the process.
I will be selling these individually but will need to set that up in slower time.

I did have a go myself but the only thing I can make out of clay is a sausage.🤪

I've designed these to be made with the latest in printing technology (that I can afford). This brings you contrasting size marking in 2 standards, a superior rolling surface and accuracy of size to within 0.05 mm of your selected spacer.🧐
The colour coding corresponds to the rainbow for easier selection and of course to add some colour to your workstation.🌈

This set of 10 spacers (5 sizes) are of course housed inside their own storage tube for easy and safe packing away when not in use.

Hi all, I've been setting up the shop and getting the domain all buttoned down.
A bit of a change in the web address was required but I like it. :)

I'll be running things differently this time. As I've changed my day job I'll be focussing on producing cutters at the weekends. To ensure that you still get the best service, I'll be holding stock of items which I'm hoping will enable me to keep your shipping times down; something that was getting longer before I had my sabbatical. :)

This could mean that some items will be unavailable for purchase until new stock is made but it will make my workload more manageable.
You can subscribe to my mailing list which I will use to alert of stock drops, new products and of course dish out some unique discounts. WOOHOO!

Prices have also had to go up (BOO!) to make it maintainable for me. :( I will of course do my utmost to get these down a bit by design tweaks, new equipment to make the processes slicker and flash sales.

It's been a crazy year but the new home is settling in. Machine warm up and trial runs are underway.

Hello all, I'll be shutting down the printers to step away and focus on some family time and a few holibags.🥰
You'll see i've taken the vast majority of products offline on the website, this is to save orders pilling up and lead times increasing (the exception being the Bangel Mandrel to support The PMC Studio Limited.)

I'd love to be able to take your orders but I need to take some time out to spend with my family.

I changed my day job this year which has meant I've had less time to devote to making cutters, some of you will have realised this with an increase in time it has taken me to fulfil your orders.
As I'm a one man band with a finite capacity, this lead time has been slowly increasing and queries regarding order status have also increased.
Most of you will know that my Customers (that's you) are at the heart of why I do what I do. It's partly with this in mind that I need to stop the order intake before too many smiles turn upside down.

The increase in orders has been very humbling as it's great to see so many people returning to buy more, this has come at a personal cost though and as we are only here on this big spinning ball once then I need to free some time to devote to my nearest and dearest.

It's difficult to say that I may not be back in the near future so I am also looking at finding a new home for your favourite cutters.

I've been facing my clay fear today 😀 and seeing how the Teeny Tiny cutters face up to polymer clay.🤓
These are all 7 mm cutters which I've used on pale pink FIMO soft.

I'm no expert in clay handling but I'm pleased with the results.😎

The Teeny Tinies really are Teeny.

Here you can see a zoom of a 4 mm TT heart taken under my USB measuring microscope.
This is just one of the tools I use to check you are getting the best quality cutters. This one checks for resin shrinkage compared to the 3D design CAD model.😎

There will be a factor of measurement accuracy but you can see how tiny these really are, with a cutting edge of ~0.25 - 0.30 mm these must be one of thee finest cutting edges in the precious metal clay community.🤓

It's been a long time coming but I'm back on the design board.🥳

A few new ones which have come at a customer's request, the lovely and intricate Monstera leaves. Currently only available in 2 styles and both coming in at 30 mm.

I will be working on scaling these but they are taking a bit more attention than usual to keep the detail in those fine cutting edges and I won't be risking any impact on quality.

I've been testing out a new resin and coupled with optimised print settings, is enabling me to get even finer detail without compromising on strength; this has allowed me to use thinner walls on these cutters and is opening up new designs which will have finer detailed shapes.🤓

I've also been listening to you all and will be creating some care notes and instructions to help along your creative journey. A lot of these tips have come from the incredible community which I'm humbled to be of service to so please keep the feedback coming.🥰

I am very proud and excited to bring you a design collaboration with Julie Holt from The PMC Studio Limited and PMC Studio Membership.
Julie came up with this idea about a month ago and I was happy to turn this into a reality using her feedback and advice. Over the course of the month, she has been using her expert skills with PMC OneFire 950 Sterling to fine tune features and sizes factoring in shrinkage.
This unique Bracelet mandrel has several features designed to make your work flow as smooth as possible and to ensure compatibility with other Cutting Clay mandrel products.
