What a whirlwind month, what a whirlwind weekend! It won't sink in for a while that this is our 'new normal'. With Christmas looming and new team members joining (in more ways than one! 👶) I don't think we'll have the time to take it all in until 2025 🤣 But the feedback we've had from you has been absolutely incredible, so we're finishing this week feeling all the love, and feeling so grateful. There's nothing else to say except THANK YOU.

Tomorrow, Friday 25th, the covers will finally come down and reveal everything we've been working on for the last month. October is always a difficult month in retail and refurbing and extending the shop has been so exciting but SO nerve wracking, so please come down to support us this weekend if you can! Big, medium or small, you've been loving the Chinese Money Plant recently!

Officially named Pilea Peperomiodes, but also called the Pancake Plant, Friendship Plant or UFO plant, these unique plants are a true gem. They're known to grow like crazy, easily producing lots of little babies (you'll be sharing with your friends!) and growing up and up in large bundles of flat circular leaves.

Fun facts:
🌿 The plant originates from Southwest China where it was believed to bring good luck and fortunes because of the coin shaped leaf - hence the name Chinese Money Plant!
🌿 It's a member of the stinging nettle family! But don't worry, it doesn't bite.
🌿 They are incredibly easy to propagate, and you're able to take cuttings from stems, leaves, or even just half a leaf!

TERRARIUM PLANTS 🌿 We've always got a huge choice in, and especially now our DIY Terrarium Kits are back, we plan to keep stocking an amazing range! Right now we have lots of colourful Fittionia, a huge range of fluffy Ferns, Palms, Pilea, Maranta and Calathea, as well as some more unusual terrarium choices, like Begonia Amphioxus, Episcia, and Pellionia Repens. Our new kits provide you with everything you need to give these terrarium plants the perfect home, so if you've always wanted to make a terrarium, this is your sign!

Everyone who owns houseplants has a problem with Fungus Gnats at some point, but they don’t have to plague you forever! Working with and keeping houseplants for years we’ve learnt the best ways to deal with them, and guarantee these tips will help get rid of them for good 🪰❌

August was our busiest month on record for 2024 and it's all thanks to you! We've welcomed thousands of you over the last month and it brings us so much joy!

Why are we posting about a little bottle of oil? Because this stuff is MAGIC for your plants 🌿 Learn more ⬇️

This is NEEM OIL
Originating from India, the Neem Tree produces an oil that has been used medicinally for centuries, able to improve dry hair and skin problems, and, of course, protect and treat plants for tough pest problems. It's a completely natural, eco friendly, and sustainable solution for pests like Aphids, Fungus Gnats, Thrips and Mealy Bugs, and is safe to use on fruit and veg, and around pets and wildlife.

HOW TO USE:
Mix 1 teaspoon per litre of water and shake. A drop or two of fragrance free dish soap can be used to help emulsify it. For pest problems, spray the affected plant once a week. We recommend spraying then wiping the plant down for best results. For maintenance, spray lightly every 3-4 weeks.

Warning: this stuff is potent! Use only in early mornings or evenings to avoid sunlight burning treated leaves, and never use undiluted or more often than suggested. Neem smells quite musty and is very viscous (a bit like cough syrup), and can vary in colour from green to brown, so don't be alarmed if it looks and smells a little funky!
