What a fab 4 weeks of summer Holiday Club 2024.
This has been the busiest Club since we started 4 years ago. We have had many more children who’s parents work join us, lots of under 5s as I know most clubs take from 5 and more children joined the HAF Programme to the point I couldn’t take anymore, also lots more with additional needs.
I have posted a couple of group photos of some of the children who joined us.
Thankyou for the kind messages, cards and presents, The biggest Thankyou goes to my team I couldn’t do my job without the support of my team, I want the children to have the best time so I have high expectations of my staff and this group have been fantastic.
We will miss you all but won’t miss beautiful things and cruel summer ringing in our ears alnight 😅

We are off on holiday now and will return to our Little Angels nursery children week commencing 2nd September back to our real jobs 😊

Today I hang up my chefs hat as tomorrow is our last day which will be party food🥳
cooking the children a hot home cooked meal is a big part of what we do, it’s gives the children the chance to try different foods and saves the parents a little bit of money. I have cooked over 600 meals over the past 4 weeks with very little left over, well done everyone the children know if they don’t eat their dinner or at least some of it they don’t get dessert needless to say it works 😊🥰

Some of the residents from Dorset House were in the Little Room some of our children popped in to sing to them and show off their gymnastics skills, the residents shared their biscuits with us Thank you was lovely to see you today 🥰

The older children had to create a sport, discuss it in their groups, draw pictures then present it to the other groups, some great ideas 😅

Thank you to the 7 parents/ carers who filled out the survey, it would be great if more filled it in.
We need to show the government that the HAF club is essential for our families or it will end in December,
then the holiday clubs will only take paying parents.
It is a short survey and you could win £40 worth of food vouchers 😊

They are gathering lots of evidence to send to the government to keep the HAF programme going it is due to finish after the Christmas Holiday club.If you want the HAF to continue please fill in the survey I have posted on here, or put a comment that I can forward to them, they also brought some bits for our buffet tomorrow thank you 🤩

The HAF Programme is running another prize draw for parents/carers to win a £40 supermarket voucher. There are 5 prizes to be won.

please take the time to fill in the form we want lots of really positive feedback to present to the government that the HAF Programme is a success and for it to end would have a negative impact on the children such as they are unlikely to take part in sport and exercise where by the haf programme increases the level of exercise in the school holidays, children who attend try new things they would not otherwise have taken part in such as cooking and team building games furthermore if the HAF was to end children could become isolated at home where in the holiday club they socialize and improve their confidence, they get to see their friends if there were no clubs in the holidays they wouldnt, working parents would have to reduce their hours or leave their jobs and their would be less provision for our SEND children or children and families who need extra support.
The 4 year cycle of the HAF Programme is due to end Easter 2025 unless the new goverment extends it which we all want so fill in the survey explaining what the HAF programme and Holiday Club means to you thank you Lynn

We have lots of new children who have joined us this summer, children who have been with us from the start and come back every holiday and some that have returned or stayed with us after they have left my nursery to start school.
The Holiday Activities and Food Programme HAF is a government-funded program that offers free holiday activities and meals to children who are eligible for free school meals.
We were one of the original settings in the bcp area that did all the ground work and pilot scheme that started the roll out of the HAF programme, 4 years later here we are.
All the HAF providers offer something different, we want our children to learn life skills, apart from pizza and cold buffet Friday we cook our own hot meal and make the desserts in addition all the children take part in team building games which can help them learn many skills that can benefit them in school, in their everyday lives, and into adulthood such as problem solving, leadership, self confidence, creativity to name a few.
There are not many holiday clubs in the area that take children under 5 or enough places for our SEND children. All our children are treated the same and take part in all our activities.
We have come along way I rarely see a lunch box now, and the children are sad when we finish and they miss their friends.
My focus with the holiday club is to give the children the best experience and to save the parents some money by providing all the food and refreshments, support our working parents, and provide respite for our SEND parents/ carers.
Staff come and go but I’m really happy that my whole nursery team have worked in the holiday club it makes my life so much easier lol, Thanks for being brilliant
Evie, Gemma, Sofia, Pan. Areej and Erin are both at university and work with us on their breaks.
