This Sundays Poole RFC Ladies match away to Havant is unfortunately cancelled due to availability, We return on Wednesday for training followed by an away fixture on Saturday against Swanage and Wareham ladies!

Juniors back at it this weekend

We returned to rugby on a sunny Sunday morning with everyone in high spirits. With a lot of standing water on the recreation ground we had to move from our usual pitches but the ground was still very soft underfoot.

We did things a little different this week after a short warm up & with the help of a couple of parents, we had four skills drills set up & in small groups the guys rotated round them all. It kept everyone moving on a cold morning. It didn’t leave much time for a game of tag at the end, but we squeezed one in for each age group & some great rugby was played.

Picking player of the week is never easy & everyone was full of energy looking to impress. We had a tough choice.
For the U7’s we went for Harrison, he was determined to get the drills right & did a good job in the tag game.
For the U8’s it went to Alex, he was very good in the drills, & not messing about when it could have been easier to join in with everyone else. He was also very good volunteering to change sides in the game to help keep the numbers fair.
Well done to both of them.

Next week we have north Dorset visiting, so more time will be given to tag rugby.

We have space for more kids to come join us, however as today showed when we have more helpers we can do different & often more interesting things each week. You can never have too many lending a hand.

Juniors at Dorchester this morning

This weekend saw Poole RFC Mens take on Sherborne away in a tightly contested match that saw Sherborne come on top 24-14. Big thanks as always to Mick Wheelhouse for solid refereeing and to all of our sponsors for their continued support!

Man of the match went to debutant Tyler with D*ck of the day greatly received by captain Dave Morrison for lasting 3 minutes and 18 seconds - a seasons best!

Fantastic training session despite the weather for Poole RFC Ladies tonight - focusing on defensive output and ball retention, the work rate was exceptional from all.
Sunday see’s us host Christchurch RFC ladies for what will no doubt be a brilliant game whatever the weather!
Player of the evening is Gemma Hardy who’s return is a great asset to the squad.
Congratulations to Livvy Bessant on being selected as captain for the upcoming game!
