I'm learning that low tide at Mothecombe, entices the horse riders out; what a stunning location. Whilst I don't know these particular equestrians, if any of my Devon followers recognise faces, please do share.

This is a belated Devon County Show photo dump; the first day, Thursday 16th May 24. This year, I simply hung around all things horsey, in particular the heavy horses, part of the Heavy Horse Festival, sponsored by Whistlefish I had a great day, chatted to so many lovely people and made a note to myself, take two camera batteries next year 😜

When I first met Zoe back in 2021, her sister, Kiera was having her photoshoot, up at Whiteleaf (a little reminder of that occasion). At the time, Zoe told me that on her bucket list, was to have photos taken in the bluebells. Fast forward three years and, for the first venue for Zoe and Texas, was Bradenham, amongst the bluebells. What a pretty picture 😍

This time last week, I was Devon bound for the annual Devon County Show I had tickets for the first day, Thursday 16th May. In spite of the two hour, door to door journey, on Thursday morning - a trip which should have taken maybe 50 minutes - I had an amazing day.

I took hundreds of photographs and the first I'd like to share are of the Ben Atkinson display, in the main arena, twice daily. Wow, what a display.

RIP Briar 🙏 You were so photogenic and behaved like a perfect model. This cute picture was selected for February, in this year’s The Horse Trust calendar.

This morning I got stuck behind a queue of slow moving traffic on my way to a photoshoot. As I got closer, I realised it was my lovely client, who I was about to photograph, on location at Hampden.
I’ve wanted the opportunity to photograph here for so long, thank you Leilah and Zoe for trusting me with this suggestion and for being such fun. I think I’m a little bit in love with Texas 🙊

I wonder if Spooners & West Dartmoor Pony Club Open Group are at the beach today, it being Good Friday. Sadly, I'm not in Devon today.

I happened upon an Instagram announcement recently, by Devon & Cornwall P2P, that their meeting scheduled at Kilworthy, on 17th March, was rescheduled for Sunday 24th March. This was lucky for me, as I wasn't too far away - less than an hour anyway - so I went along to watch the Lamerton at Kilworthy races; it was a great afternoon. Pipers Corner School Christmas Fair

Whilst walking the dogs through the local woods earlier today, we commented on what we felt was the glorious autumn leaves, being late this year. Maybe not, looking at this memory from two years ago; Whiteleaf woods 🍁

On a recent stay down in Devon, we decided to pay Dartmoor a visit, with the hope of stumbling across some ponies for me to photograph.

Little did I know, when we pulled into the car park at Haytor, having faffed around getting the dogs ready, checking had we got poo bags, should we take binoculars, coat or no coat - you know what it’s like - I couldn’t have asked for more, as there was a small herd, dotted around the torr.

The three I captured here, fascinated and excited me in equal measures, I was captivated by their behaviour and the performance they put on. It honestly wasn’t aggressive, I believe that they were play fighting, with maybe some showing off going on to.

I hope you enjoy looking at the photos, as much as I did taking them.

It also reminded me of the photo I took, when you came to collect your order 😊

When I offered to print out the set of contacts, from what I thought was my newly fixed printer (by the wonderful Mr Dunnington) I didn’t realise that when he said it was working, it took over 10 minutes to print one page 😳 Nevertheless, I got there in the end.

This is something I suggest doing, especially when anyone is finding it particularly hard to make a final decision with their set of images, whittling it down to four, for a collage, can be tricky.

So my top tip is to print them off, cut them up and spread them out on the table or floor, you’ll be able to more quickly see which group well together and sit easy on the eye ❤️
