Welcome to Reading Joggers! Weโre a fun and active club with over 200 members which was founded in Welcome to the Reading Joggers Facebook group!
A fun and friendly group of runners in Reading who share a passion for running. We welcome all ages and abilities. We meet every Tuesday evening at Tilehurst Youth & Community Centre, 23 The Triangle, Tilehurst, Reading, RG30 4RN at 7pm. We also meet every Thursday evening for our training sessions at various locations at 7pm. The locations where we meet each week can be found listed on our websit

This week has seen members taking part in;
- Henley River 10km
- Newbury Racecourse 10km
- Windsor Trail Half
- The Big Half in London
There were also a group who braved the estimated 6000 strong crowd for Bushy Parkrunโs 1000th event ๐โโ๏ธ
Huge congratulations to those who completed events - wear those medals with pride!
Well done everyone who took part in our training sessions last night ๐โโ๏ธ
Both group sessions incorporated speed and endurance. One group did โMeet and Retreatsโ - a 300 meter loop at 10km pace. The other group did 400-800-400 meter reps with 30 and 60 second rests inbetween followed by an Indian Running drill and fying 100s to finish!

Some groups made the most of getting out onto the trails whilst they still could last night!
We need to dig out our high-vis and lights as it will be dark on our social runs very soon ๐โโ๏ธ

It was a busy couple of days with lots of Joggers taking part in events on what was a very hot and sunny weekend โ๏ธ
We had members taking part in;
- Hart 4km Trail Relay Race (4 hours to complete as many laps as possible!)
- Birmingham Canal Canter
- Ramsbury 10km
- Brutal 10km in Bordon
- โThe Crossingโ Dartmoor Ultra

Well done to everyone who took part in this evenings training - speed and endurance both did the โFlying 30โsโ. This session is designed to test your max velocity ability and helps to develop your maximum speed over a set distance ๐โโ๏ธ

This weeks Medal Monday starts off with a huge congratulations to our latest C25K graduates who completed park run at the weekend! ๐
The group has shown great determination and commitment and the hard work has paid off ๐๐ป
There was a great turn out of RJ members to support them at our local and we look forward to the graduates continuing their running journeys with RJs!
In medal news, there were members taking part in the Bourne Valley Half Marathon and the โChasing Numbersโ Marathon ๐๐ป๐โโ๏ธ well done!

This week sees medals from Dinton Summer Series 5km, Race for Life 10km in Hyde Park, the Uffington White Horse Gallop and the Round Reading Ultra Marathon ๐โโ๏ธ
And whilst not showing off a medal but still worthy of a shout out - a group of Joggers volunteered at the T100 triathlon event on Saturday!
Well done everyone ๐๐ป some fantastic running achievements and we all know how valuable volunteers are to allowing any sporting events to happen so hats off to all those who gave their time to help out!

Our C25K group are on their penultimate week of the course - graduation next week!

We had a great turn out of Joggers for the Renegade 10km with another venturing to London for the Saucony 10km. One member earned a very cool medal by taking part in The Spitfire Challenge marathon!

This week saw Joggers taking part in Endure 24 Leeds, Emmer Green 5km and 10km and the Ham and Lyme Ultra ๐

It was the second summer pub run of the season last night and what a beautiful evening we had for it! The sun was shining, the runners were smiling and even the horses said hello!

- Black Rock 5 in Fife (no medal but a banana and a can of real ale with some pretty impressive scenery instead!)

- Cotswold Way 100km Challenge

Itโs another Medal Monday and this week saw Joggers taking part in the Wargrave 10km, the Hampshire Hobbit Marathon and the Pilgrims Way Challenge - a 35km journey along one of Englandโs oldest national trails!

Last night also saw the first start of our new Couch to 5km course - fantastic to see so many people starting their running journeys with us. We canโt wait to see your progression over the coming weeks ๐
Last night also saw the first 2024 Summer Pub Run ๐โโ๏ธ๐ป
These events happen once a month over the summer with options of a 5 or 3 mile run or a 3 mile walk followed by food and drink at the pub with a different location each time.
What amazing scenery we had for the first one in Aldworth ๐

This bank holiday weekend saw members take part in Newbury 10km, Edinburgh Marathon, Alice in Runderland Marathon and The Fox Trail Run where distances of both 41km and 62km were completed ๐๐ป
