ISO-THERM is a patent-protected material made of specifically woven polyester that is incredibly thin (+/-4 mm). It is lightweight, flexible, and compatible with a variety of wall finishes.

Its flexibility and ease of use allow it to be installed with minimal intrusion, fitting around light switches, sockets, radiator brackets, and other similar fixtures.

Because ISO-THERM is waterproof but vapour permeable, it prevents any lateral damp transfers and prevents any natural surface nitrates and chlorides from developing as an efflorescent salt. Its great thermal advantage and ability to block natural damp transfers make it extremely resistant to the growth of surface mould.

✔️ Walls with damp stains and tidemarks

The presence of tide marks on walls is one of the most typical indicators of growing damp. Salt migration from the wall that has risen up the wall from the ground and wet evaporation are the causes of tide marks. From the base of the wall to about a metre above the ground, these are visible. Another important symptom to check for if you can't see tidemarks is wet spots or stains on your walls. Similar to tidemarks, these patches, which are often brown or dark yellow, are common from the base of the wall to one metre above the ground.

✔️ Wet or damp patches that appear on walls

There's a good chance rising damp is to blame if your property has moist or damp areas on its walls. Rising damp may be the cause if the wet patches are limited to the lower wall region and the home is on the ground floor. This is brought on by moisture rising through the brick or masonry of your property walls due to capillary action from the earth beneath the base of the walls.

✔️ Plaster's internal salts (one of the most common indications of rising damp)

The moisture can pass through the masonry and upward due to capillary action. Salts from the earth are carried by the moisture as it rises through the wall structure and into the property, where they erode the plaster and other decorations. These salts are referred to as hygroscopic salts, which indicates that they will draw moisture from the air and exacerbate your wall's damp issues.

✔️ Peeling wallpaper or paint

Peeling paint or wallpaper is one of the other telltale indications of rising humidity. Your walls' moisture content will rise as a result of persistent damp problems. Paint or wallpaper that is peeling off the wall could be caused by additional moisture. Most notably, this is seen in the lowest portion of the wall or around the skirting board.

✔️ Brittle or clunky plaster

Indicators of a potential damp issue with your property include crumbling or flaking plaster, and powdery deposits on wall surfaces close to the bottom floor.

✔️ Rotten flooring and skirting boards

Floorboards and skirting boards may start to deteriorate if the rising damp problem in your home has been neglected for a long period. This is because too much moisture is impacting the wood, which leads to the fungus attacking and germinating.

✔️ Wet and musty odour

The unmistakable smell of wet within the property is one of the easiest ways to identify damp indications. You can frequently smell dampness in your home even if you can't see it.

✔️ Black mould

When black mould starts to grow in the bottom parts of your wall, it's obvious that there's moisture issues there.

✔️ Rusting steel fasteners and iron

Unprotected iron and steel will rust if it is exposed to excessive moisture for a prolonged amount of time.

Ground floor walls can sustain significant damage from rising wet on both their internal and external surfaces. Repairing crumbling mortar and bricks can be expensive. Rising damp can create loose or crumbling bricks or mortar, which can become extremely porous and allow wet to seep through the masonry, further damaging interior walls.
