TITLE: PATIENT SERVICES ADVISOR

LOCATION: READING

HOURS OF WORK: Full time

We are an NHS GP surgery located in Reading with a friendly, dynamic and supportive team that works across two different sites with the capacity of 30,000 patients.
We are looking to recruit an individual that is compassionate, empathetic and positive with a calm disposition and an eye for detail. The applicant must have good communication skills and have the ability to work under pressure.
Previous experience is not essential as training will be provided to enable you to carry out your role efficiently. Experience with customer service would be an advantage.
Hours
We have a full-time position available with 35hrs working between the hours of 7:30AM and 8:30PM Monday to Friday and will be rostered to work a Saturday morning every 6-8 weeks.
Job description
To arrange, check and triage patient’s appointments.
To help with all patient queries.
To assist clinicians in chaperoning when required
To support the data manager with quality and outcomes framework.

Finally ... we are pleased to advise that our new phone system is on its way. The company have been installing the equipment this week and it will go live on Tuesday 24th September.

The phone lines will be closed this afternoon for staff training. The surgeries are open for pre-booked appointments only.

The lines will reopen tomorrow morning. If you need medical assistance before then please contact your local pharmacy or 111 and they will advise.

We are holding a Flu Vaccination clinic on Saturday 5th October at Circuit Lane Surgery. If you are eligible and would like to have one please contact Reception to book an appointment.

The surgery will be closed on Monday 26th August. If you need help please seek advice from a pharmacy or contact 111 for advice.

We will reopen on Tuesday 27th.

The internet is currently down nationally. Please bear with us as we have no systems. We will be back up and running soon … we hope.

Our clinical system is now operational, but could we please ask that you remain patient with us whilst we deal with the backlog. Prescriptions will have a delay to turnaround of an additional 2-3 days. Whilst we appreciate this is frustrating, this international outage has also affected pharmacies and supply chains. Staff are working extremely hard to help. Please be patient with them whilst there is increased demand.

Our phone lines are down at our Circuit Lane Surgery site and we have drafted in as many people as possible to cover at Western Elms however there may be a longer delay in us answering the phones until this issue has been resolved. Please be assured we are doing everything we can to get this problem fixed and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Downloading the NHS App will allow you to access digital services and manage your healthcare.

We are holding a 'clinic' on Saturday 22nd June to help people who need assistance in setting this up. If you would like to come down please do and a team of people will support you at Circuit Lane.

If successful we hope to do this once a month.

All surgeries across west Berkshire will be closed on Thursday 6th June 2024 from 13:00 for an internal training day to enable staff to attend mandatory training.
We will re-open at 8am Friday 7th June 2024.
