Have you wondered what happens when you contact the Carers’ Hub Rochdale? A Carers Information and Support Officer will get in touch with you and get to know you and gain an understanding of your needs as a carer. They will work with you to provide support to meet your individual needs. A young carer is an individual aged between 5 and 18 years who provides unpaid care for a family member dealing with a long-term illness, disability, mental health condition, or substance misuse. Do you relate to any of the below:

Provide you with information about the illness or disability of the person you care for
Help you get advice and support for the person you care for

Carers’ Hub Rochdale holds regular Coffee & Chat sessions allowing carers to meet and chat with other carers, former carers, speak to a Carers Engagement Officer, and take a well-earned break from their caring role whilst enjoying a tea or coffee.

The Carers’ Hub Rochdale offers a Carer Friendly Mark to organisations dedicated to supporting adult carers, whether they are accessing services or employed by the organisation. The Carers’ Hub Rochdale works directly with individual carers to discuss their concerns and needs and design a tailored personalised support package. The support available includes:

• Specialist 1-2-1 and group support
• A dedicated support worker
• Peer support
• Information and support to take a break from the caring role including a volunteer led sitting in service and My Time Voucher Scheme
• Information, advice and guidance on a range of carers related matter
• Local Carers Coffee and Chat Groups online and face to face
• A 24/7 volunteer led Carers Help and Talk CHAT Line
• Access to a range of digital/online resources and activities
• Access to online support including our Carers Community Network
• Support to access community, health and wellbeing services

In 2023-24, the Carers’ Hub Rochdale received 1651 carers at groups and events offering carers time away from their caring role. During 2023-24 Carer’s Hub Rochdale delivered 415 1-2-1 sessions with young carers, helping to provide them with the support they needed for their caring role and their own well-being.
