It’s always lovely to receive messages like this on my week off. This client hadn’t driven on a motorway for years due to feeling so much anxiety. 🙌🏻 🚗
Humming can also stimulate your vagus nerve. ✨
OCD is something that I often refer on for CBT but this client already had CBT and other forms of therapy. She was eager to try hypnotherapy and as you can see, she was glad she did! 🌟
The best part of my job is being able to give clients the tools that they need to create postive changes in their life 🤩
Did you know there are many scientific benefits of gratitude? Some of these include positive moods and better sleep 😴
🚨 🚨 Last minute cancellation for a session tomorrow at 4:50 pm!!!!! This is my last after school appointment available until January.

Learning to begin to become aware of yourself is a really useful tool. 🧠
Sometimes we just need simple awareness instead of going into anxiety.
It’s been far too long since I did a post! I’ve been busy with clients this summer and juggling the school holidays, as I’m sure many of you have.
It’s always lovely to receive reviews such as this and reminds me why I do what I do! 😊
What a beautiful surprise to receive from one of my clients. 🌻 🥰
Fawning is a trauma response where a person develops people-pleasing behaviours to avoid conflict and establish a sense of safety. It is a type of coping mechanism that’s most often established during childhood.
Excellent advice from the STILL Method. This is something that I always discuss with parents before I see a child in a therapy session.
Ways to de-escalate
It’s okay to focus on the things that you can control in life and LET GO of the things you can’t.
Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the behaviours of others that we have no energy left to focus on us.
YOU are important. YOU matter. ✨
You are replaceable.
It’s true.
You are replaceable in all areas of your life.
Except.
In your home and in your closest relationships.
If you were to leave your workplace tomorrow, the office would move on. Eventually, with someone new.
But you are not replaceable to those who love you.
Go after your goals. But do so with clear eyes. Do so knowing your work is important. But it is not what’s most important.
Prioritize accordingly.
Invest your time and your heart wisely. If this spoke to you, I believe my book- “The Gift of the Unexpected” will too: https://amzn.to/3Xuejy3 (affiliate)
It’s okay to cry. 😭
How to teach children that mistakes are good!

One day a school teacher wrote on the board the following:
9×1=7
9×2=18
9×3=27
9×4=36
9×5=45
9×6=54
9×7=63
9×8=72
9×9=81
9×10=90
When she was done, she looked to the students and they were all laughing at her, because of the first equation which was wrong, and then the teacher said the following;
I wrote that first one wrong on purpose, because I wanted you to learn something important. This was for you to know how the world out there will treat you. You can see that I wrote the RIGHT thing 9 times, but none of you congratulated me for it, But you all laughed and criticized me because of one wrong thing I did.
So this is the lesson:
The world will never appreciate the good you do a million times, but will criticize the one wrong thing you do...don't get discouraged. ALWAYS RISE ABOVE ALL THE LAUGHTER AND CRITICISM. STAY STRONG.'
Questions to ask yourself when you are overthinking:
- What evidence do I have that this thought is true?
- What evidence do I have that this thought is not true?
- What’s the worst that could happen?
- What would I think if a loved one was having this thought?
- Am I behaving out of habit?
- What might others make of this situation?

Is anxiety getting in the way of you achieving your goals?
If so, try the ‘but’ reversal.
“ I want to learn to drive but I’m anxious about the traffic.”
VS
“I’m anxious about the traffic but I’m going to learn to drive.”
Overthinking can have a lot of negative consequences on our wellbeing. What’s your go to technique when you find yourself overthinking?
Mine is to turn to nature and use grounding techniques. 🍂
What should you look for in a hypnotherapist? It can feel daunting when looking for a therapist. With so many different types of therapy out there, what should you be looking for?
A good place to start is to check that the therapist is insured, what training they have undertaken and if they belong to any accrediting bodies.
So here’s a little about me. ✨
- My initial training was a year long classroom based training with KICH ( Kent Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy). I have since undergone many hours of additional training including advanced study in generalised anxiety disorder and professional study in therapeutic interventions for children and teens.
- I am a member of the APHP ( The Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy). To be a member of the APHP you need to have adequate training, a supervisor, insurance and complete a certain amount of CPD hours each year.
- I am fully insured.
- I am currently studying child psychology and childhood studies as part of my psychology degree to further the work I do with children.
- I am a member of HISP ( Hypnotherapy in Schools Programme). To be a member of HISP I was required to do further training, adhere to their code of ethics, have an enhanced DBS check and train in safeguarding children.
- Most importantly I have 3 children of my own whom I’m very grateful for. They have given me a wealth of hands on experience when it comes to working with children.

How we talk to ourselves is important. Our inner voice can build our self-esteem and motivation.
Remember to be kind to yourself.
Therapy can be a great way to build your confidence.
This year doesn’t need to be a new year new you, because YOU are already enough. ✨
Keep on growing, keep on evolving and most importantly keep on being YOU! ✨
Happy new year 🌟
Today I was wrapped up warm waiting for my last clients of 2022.

Pets, especially dogs and cats, can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, ease loneliness, encourage exercise and playfulness, and even improve your cardiovascular health.
Boundaries!
We can’t change the behaviour of others, so it can be helpful to remember what we are in control of. Something that we are in control of is setting our own boundaries.
