2023 - Our first year at the Parade!

We battled floods, high winds and a LOT of rain. But… people came, and they Danced and Drank and Ate and Shopped.

We had the absolute honor of welcoming a WWII veteran into the studio this week. Alec Penstone who is a very spritely 98 years young, has had a book written about his experiences, and Mandy photographed Alec and the team from Penstone Publishing to mark the launch. The book is titled My Ten and a half Arctic Convoys.

Alec took part in the D-Day invasion of France on the 6th June 1944, as well as being part of the Arctic Convoys taking vital supplies to Russia in the battles against the N**i invasion.

The book is an account of his life from his childhood in North London, joining the Navy at 18, the Arctic Convoys, D-Day and then his deployment in the Pacific. To buy the book contact [email protected]
