Rye Castle: - Winter Hours - Open daily - 10.30 am to 4 pm
Last entry 3:30pm.
East Street: Closed except by special arrangement in October to March. Open Summer weekends. The Museum is situated on two sites – in the 13th Century Rye Castle and at 3 East Street. In 1889, the Rye Literary Society first said they would like the Castle/Tower as a Museum when it was empty, but nothing happened until 1923, when the Tower was Scheduled as an Ancient Monument.
