Fuzzy Duck
UK creative studio, building a hard earned reputation for telling your much loved stories.
Breedon: Five Alive Rules
Breedon are leading producer and supplier of raw earth products and materials. They asked us to make a new set of material to allow their people to get behind the safety culture with their ‘Home, safe and well’ programme, ensuring focus on health, safety and wellbeing for the business.
Quarry Bank Mill: National Trust.
On this work for Quarry Bank Mill we weren’t making a comment. We were merely trying to show life as it was in the factory as accurately, as painful and as noisy as possible so visitors could catch a glimpse of life inside a working mill. Proud to work alongside The Workhaus, Mather & Co. and FusionLX to craft this story for National Trust
Just a quick glance through some sights and sounds in Fuzzy Duck land.
Enjoy!
From the vault: PowerPoint Perfection
Yesterday we posted the TalkTalk Next Generation animation but it wouldn't be right not to show you its interactive interface - that was only gone and built in flippin PowerPoint! Fantastic, creative and really clear interactives come as standard, but to build it in PowerPoint? Well that's just naughty.
One from the vault: TalkTalk Next Generation
This animation was designed to introduce the new and improved ways of working being introduced at TalkTalk. Looking back, we still love the transitions across the environments and storytelling through simple iconography.
This played a part in a larger project with a blend of design, animation and digital development within an interactive PowerPoint allowing easy access across the business.
Get your audience listening 3: TELLING STORIES
Crafting a much loved story to engage with your audience to know, understand and empathise with your brand...there's a real art to telling your tale.
United Utilities: Fleet Maintenance Recruitment Film 🔧
UU commissioned us to create a video to attract talent into their fleet maintenance team with an aim to highlight the work/life balance, working environment and career development benefits that sometimes can’t be presented in a job advert.
With our video we show potential UU candidates what working with them is really all about, we did this by filming one of their current teams on site to talk about their experiences whilst working there.
Meet the Ducks: What's your favourite job?
Hard to pin us down on an absolute favourite but just off the top of our heads...
We’re pleased to announce that we have been shortlisted for the MPA inspiration awards 2024 for the collaboration award with our media city neighbours . The award is for the ‘A Place To Call Home’ project for and !
Get your audience listening 2: THE INTERVIEW
When people speak about their product or service with real passion, energy and (on occasion) emotion it's a really powerful form of communication.
But getting the interview right is a real skill.
Making the subject feel relaxed, how to frame, what is the message (the important bit), do we throw in an abrasive questions to evoke emotion or have them walk and talk? There's a lot that goes into getting a great interview, but man it's powerful when done right.
How did we get here? For many companies, your story is your brand.
Telling this story in the right way can be crucial.
Us Ducks are known for crafting much loved stories for our corporate and heritage clients - very occasionally we get to mix the two, producing corporate heritage for clients. A history of Gas is Cadent Gas Limited's story, we used actual pipes as the timeline to help to tell their story.
Our head of design, Seb Chadwick led on the creative:
“Created to fit within a living wall, the team at Cadent had a vision for a timeline to sit as the atrium centrepiece to their new premises in Ansty Park. Working with fit-out experts, The Workhaus Projects to produce 3 types of scenic pipework. Moving from rusted cast-iron to modern polythene to LED strip lighting for that futuristic feel to convey Cadent's vision for hydrogen power. "

A quick insight into what our guys love about their work and the little points of difference in the work we produce.
Get your audience listening: THE CUT
A huge part of story telling through film is in the edit. This is where we finally get to see the magic of film come to life. Trimming footage to get that precise emotion you're after is a real talent, and if the editor's doing a good job - an invisible one.
Do you have role models in your business?
Cadent Gas Ltd, the UK’s largest gas distribution network, were looking to grow the number of women in their Operations division. We worked closely to produce this aspirational film to inspire women, at every level of their pathway to consider Operations as a viable career choice.

One from the vault: CORPORATE ANIMATION
Using animation as the tool to skip across continents, here's how we helped seventy7 launch their wonderful new brand to their team and clients, keeping their ethos of 'We plan. Create. Optimise.' central, with a transition style representing the seamless flow of seventy7's work throughout - with a friendly tone of voice, track and down-to-earth imagery. Lovely.
Is your audience listening?
Over the next few months we're taking a fresh look on how to get your message heard, understood and remembered by the people you want to listen.
Borrowdale Temperate Rainforest:
🌳
The National Trust’s team asked us to create a new film presenting the incredible diversity and richness of the biggest remaining portion of the UK’s ancient Atlantic oakwood forest.
Using interviews, drones and getting up close to the trees, we created a film that presented exactly why this forest is so vital. This film was made to support Borrowdale's submission, and has now been declared a new National Nature Reserve in an effort to protect the habitat for generations.

Working up some new content with some very orange lighting. Don’t worry. It looks great on the monitor.
This will be cool to share when it’s ready.
Our friends at United Utilities asked us to produce a case study film to showcase the water saving tech that Atkinson Homes have introduced at a new development in Penrith. Get in touch to see how we can help bring your story to life!

For the curious and interested: A British Museum Touring Exhibition 🏛️
We were commissioned by The British Museum to create the 2D graphic design, gallery plan and case layouts working alongside their partner venues and for the Sloane Lab Touring Exhibition. This was a fantastic project to work on, so we’re made up to receive lovely feedback from
For the curious and interested - A British Museum Touring Exhibition 🏛️
During his lifetime, the physician and naturalist Sir Hans Sloane assembled a vast collection of books, drawings, prints, plants, antiques and cultural objects. Over 270 years later, this exhibition reunites 25 of those objects to explore Sloane’s legacy.
We were commissioned by The British Museum to create the 2D graphic design, gallery plan and case layouts for the touring exhibition at Down County Museum in Northern Ireland and Ceredigion Museum in Wales.
You can visit ‘For the curious and interested’ at Ceredigion Museum, Aberystwyth, Wales, until 7 September 2024.
The Ducks are proud to sponsor Benny Hartill and wish him and the rest of the Warrington Wolves team all the very best this afternoon. We craft much loved stories, it’s great to see the stories of some young, dedicated athletes unfold.
Enjoy fellas
Storm56! 🎬
We’ve been wanting to do this for a while, to have a workshop/lab type of space to show our creative flow to anyone that’s passing. Sometimes these are fully formed stories, sometimes just snippets of dreams.
Storm56 is a space where Fuzzy Duck’s wonderful creatives are free to explore their talents. Some of the great leaps this company has taken have been from sparks of ideas that we were able to produce that lead to wonderful pieces of work for our clients. So, whilst it’s cool to just have the freedom to try new things, it does make practical, business sense too. If you love what you do, you work hard at it, if you work hard enough you become an expert and people pay experts well!

Borrowdale temperate rainforest: 🌳
Borrowdale rainforest in the Lake District is one of the few surviving examples of untouched landscape valuable for its wildlife, climate and its community.
The area has now been declared a national nature reserve in an effort to protect the habitat for generations. We’re thrilled to have worked on the film to help the get the area the status it deserves.

Wimpole Farm Interpretation: National Trust
We partnered with Wimpole Estate for the design, build and installation of an interpretation trail through their rare breed home farm. The trail linked various components of the farm for a cohesive visit, encouraging visitors of all ages to visit all areas.
We loved working on this one and we’re made up to receive lovely feedback from National Trust
Cadent: Mental health awareness video.
‘Moving more for our mental health’ is the theme of Mental Health Awareness week 2024. With this in mind, Cadent asked us to produce a film to celebrate and break down barriers to talking about mental health. Cadent employees helped tell the story of what mental health means to them, how they stay active to aid their mental health and shared the support systems Cadent have in place to support their workforce with their mental health.
The Ducks are off for their annual trip to watch Warrington Wolves this evening. Working for the 'Wire' was our first steps into producing exhibition work for sport - since this, back in 2013 we've told stories for clubs such as PSG, Man Utd, National Football Museum and the story of golf at St Andrews to name a few. But this journey all began at Warrington...as did ours.
We proudly worked with the Bawdsey Radar Trust to keep its landmark story alive for many years to come, including its role in the success of the Battle of Britain.
Together with exhibition designers PLB, we created an experience that immerses visitors in more than 100 years of history. From bold animations explaining the science behind radar to a giant interactive timeline and aerial footage of the entire Bawdsey estate. But perhaps the most compelling are the stories we captured on film, shared by people who heard it firsthand from those who worked at station. For us, it doesn’t get more real than that.
Sometimes you just need to see things from a fresh perspective!
For many years, our skilled drone operators have been perfecting their skills. Here’s a glimpse of our drone footage from when we have taken to the skies.
