We are having a well earned break now, and will be back open on 2nd January.

2023 has been a big year for us. As most of you will probably know by now, Me (Adam) and Matty took over the business in September, and we would like to take this time to thank Andy for all he has done for us over the years, and for giving us the fantastic opportunity to continue to run this business which has grown and grown since he started it back in 2006. He has semi-retired now, but will be continuing to work part time in the diesel shop doing what he does best.

This year has been our busiest year to date, and we look forward to welcoming you all back through our doors in 2024 🙂

We recently had this absolute beauty of a MK4 Transit camper 2.5td in for a Bosch VE conversion. Those of you that know your old transits will know the Lucas Epic pump is trouble for several reasons! In this case it had a very bad fuel leak. We supplied and fitted the full Bosch VE conversion kit including new timing belt etc and what a transformation it was! The customer left happy with a much more reliable vehicle with plenty of power under foot.

Here's a fuel sample we took from a non-runner that was recovered to us. The larger sample is direct from the fuel tank and the smaller sample was taken from the fuel filter. Needless to say the water content caused some serious damage to the high pressure fuel pump! We removed the fuel tank to clean and drain to make sure we removed every last drop. The injectors were tested in house and luckily they were OK. New high pressure pump fitted, fresh diesel and filter and the vehicle was back up and running 🚗💨💥

Here's a nice little project we've been busy with this week. Mercedes OM605 injection pump fitted with bigger elements (7.7mm) and some other goodies, making this pump capable of achieving BIG POWER! It currently delivers roughly 3 times the amount of fuel at full throttle than it did in standard form 💪

We did a spot of coal mining yesterday, courtesy of a Ford Focus with all four of its injector seals leaking!

As you can see, injector seal failure makes a real mess if not rectified early, not to mention the horrible smell of fumes entering the cabin.

We removed the injectors, cleaned everything up and recut the injector seats to prevent the problem reoccuring. The vehicle was then reassembled using new sealing washers. Bit of a nasty job but somebody's gotta do it!

If you can smell fumes while driving, it's worth getting it checked out sooner rather than later to prevent it getting as bad as this Focus!

Today we had a vehicle recovered in as a non-runner. We got to work and diagnosed a fuel pressure issue. We found the cause of the fault, a faulty injector. We removed the injector and stripped it down. We found a tiny hairline crack in the control valve which was causing the vehicle not to run! We reconditioned the injector in-house using genuine parts, bench tested and calibrated it then refitted it to the vehicle. We take great pride and satisfaction in being able to test and recondition fuel pumps and injectors in our diesel shop! For all your diesel related enquiries feel free to pop in 🚗🚜⛵️

Here's a few pictures from a recent job we did.

Brand new engine, DSG clutch and flywheel fitted to a T5 Transporter. Due to various issues with the original unit, the owner opted to have a brand new engine fitted along with a clutch and flywheel as this was very rattly also.

Due to retirement, we will soon be in need of an experienced technician to join our team. A qualified MOT tester would be a bonus, but not essential.

We've been so busy lately we've not had chance to post anything for a while! We've had a rush of motorhomes with customers wanting them ready to use again now restrictions have eased. We've had engine rebuilds, snapped timing chains, blocked DPF's and not to mention a mouse hiding where it shouldn't be!

I think we can all agree it's been rather chilly recently! We've seen a huge rise in battery failures as we do every winter. It's worth having your battery tested if you aren't 100% confident in it and we don't charge for battery testing either so don't hesitate to come and see us!

Don't ignore that annoying whine coming from your engine.

The bearings in this belt tensioner were so worn out they caused the whole pulley to shatter, which in turn shredded the auxiliary drive belt, resulting in loss of power steering.

This customer was lucky, belt/pulley failures like this can cause major damage to your engine and cost ££££'s to repair.

We had this wonky wheeled Iveco in today. One of the suspension arms had completely snapped!

New arm supplied and fitted and a quick inspection to check for further damage before returning to the customer 👌
