Brilliant adhoc online coaching evening tonight with the paddleboarders from the Club's moving water event this weekend. Learning more about all those whitewatery hazards and safety issues; things we talked about on the water at the weekend, in more detail and with a little more time. Well done folks!

Last night was our trial AquaPaddle event.

We hope to hold the first of our monthly events on Sunday 1st September 2024.

PaddleBoard Moving Water Intro Session 4th August

Last weekend, a few club members had the chance to try their hand and paddleboards on a Moving Water Intro Session with the club's Coach Steve.

A brilliant session was had by all; it was the first time on moving water for some of the members. Great to see a real sense of achievement from everyone and plenty of smiles.

Paddleboards arent just all about lake paddling , there's a lot of other fun to be had on them too.

The club will plan more sessions if there is enough interest from members; just get in touch.

Paddling Opportunity

Monday night 6-8pm at Wykeham lake.

Kingfishers Swimmers are looking for support boat paddlers tomorrow evening 29th July at Wykeham lake. They can't swim without support boats and are short of help tomorrow.

If you've done the Explore or Discovery course, this is ideal for you.

Kit can be supplied if you haven't got your own boat.

Northern Monkey England Surf Kayak are running a Surf Kayak Development weekend in Scarborough over the 17th & 18th of August 2024.

Involving a series of two-day surf development courses of Surf Kayaking up here in the sunny flat-cap Mecca of Scarborough, during the two days you will be coached by qualified Surf Kayak coaches and be given the opportunity to focus on personal skills and tactics.

This course is a real opportunity for anyone who would like to try out surfing, from flat-water kayakers who are interested in getting into surf for the first time to white-water paddlers who want to try something different for when the rivers get dry, or even sea-kayakers who want to try in smaller boats to then transfer the skills back to their sea kayaking.

South Bay Facility.

Scarborough has been given £20m of development (levelling) funding. The club would like to use this as an opportunity to lobby for development of a water sports facility on the South bay. Members can support this by making the request on the council survey. We urge all members to complete this on the link below asap.
