This award is particularly special as it celebrates individuals who embody passion and dedication, championing those in the tourism industry who provide an unforgettable visitor experience. Rob was kindly nominated by the North York Moors National Park.

Annual Providers Survey - North Yorkshire Sport Each year we reach out to organisations to understand more about the health of their setting and their development needs.

North Riding County Football Association are developing their new strategy and reviewing where possible resources can be delivered in the future.

To help shape this, they would like to invite you to a consultation session where you will join a small group of others from the grassroots game made up of a range of roles from local clubs to discuss and help us gain an insight into what matters to you.

The session will be an informal and relaxed event where people can discuss and express their views on local football. It would be fantastic to hear your opinions to help develop our strategic priorities.

Key themes will focus on:
Behaviours - how can we address poor behaviour within grassroots football?
Volunteers - how can we help attract and retain volunteers?
Clubs of the Future - how can we support your clubs ambitions?

The workshop will take place at Scarborough Sports Village on the 30th January, 6.30pm to 8.00pm

🤩 Wow! What a special night we had at the Sports Awards 2022 recognising and celebrating local sport across our Borough.

The level of achievement, dedication and commitment is always displayed at this event; so it’s really rewarding that we can deliver this event to recognise all the positive community development work.

Well done to all the winners, runners up and highly commended nominees; you are all truly exceptional.

If you are attended please try and arrive at the Scarborough Spa for 6:15pm, to enable the event to start at 6:30pm. Please note the venue will be busy, and the Spa Cliff Lift will be available.

The evening will start with a performance by George Griffiths and we are hoping to be joined by two very special guests (virtually of course!)

Junior Cricket Coaching opportunity with Grosmont Cricket Club All the details are in the post below 👇

GROSMONT JUNIORS

Grosmont C.C has never had a junior team and we believe there has been no better time to start then now. It is the only thing the club has lacked over the years and should be the key to securing the future of Grosmont CC. We are aiming at an age group of between 8 and 11, however we will more than accommodate for all ages of 5+ in soft ball training.

Our newly appointed head coach Richard Randle has recently qualified in ECB Core Coaching Level 2 and will be assisted by Charlie Parker – a former junior player (now senior).

In the modern world we understand safeguarding must taken seriously therefore all coaches/umpires/officials/scorers/groundsmen will have DBS certificates. We also aim to DBS check as many members of the club as possible down to the players who are registered with Play-Cricket.

Grosmont C.C offers one of the best playing grounds in the area as well as a decent pavilion with facilities. An excellent playing track which we have been working on for the last 4 years speaks for itself and many away team clubs who travel to play here agree. A safe playing pitch is key to the learning curve and development of grass roots cricket.

Of course we very much understand for this to materialise we have to have to recruit a large enough group of youngsters to form a junior side. Therefore we urge anyone who is interested for themselves or their family to contact Richard Randle, Charlie Parker or Arran Liddle.

We aim to begin practice netting as early as February and encourage any juniors aged 5+ who would be interested to attend our practice sessions at Fyling Hall School as a starting point to get the ball rolling soon as possible.

Starting on Tuesday 17 January, we are delighted to be able to offer free Hockey sessions for any beginners to the sport, or those of you who have played previously and are looking to get back involved.

Equipment will be provided at each session (sticks etc.) along with experienced Club members being on hand to help you get into the swing of things.

These sessions are open to all aged over 16, in a fun, welcoming environment from 1915-2015hrs each week, at our home pitch at Scarborough College.
