Kambo Green Room

After someone sits with kambo and they've finished their process, they invariably rest with a blanket wrapped round them and the look on their face is one that I never tire of seeing. Someone in deep rest. We get so busy and stressed with the demands of everyday life that we easily forget to give ourselves permission to just stop,pause and rest. Kambo reminds us that it's ok, it does the heavy lifting, clearing stress, exhaustion and removing toxicity that has built up within us often due to our lifestyle choices. When we awaken we feel revitalized and re-energized, in those moments it is a kindness to be mindful and remember it's important to let go and take out some time for yourself. 👍🐸👌

we had another busy extended weekend with Bwiti Roots over at the 🐸 Green Room, time went quickly, everybody worked hard and we had a lot of fun, as always looking forward to our next get together

And so, we once again gently close off the ceremony 🌀✨️

I had a powerful self-session with Kambo last week, I like to sit with the medicine at the change of seasons or near to them. Our bodies adapt and change, during this period of seasonal transition. I find it incredibly beneficial to cleanse, and reset. For me I tend to suffer heavy hay fever that can lay me up. Last year once again kambo proved what an incredible and powerful ally it is and immediately alleviated all my symptoms (last May I missed a wild camping trip to a sacred site) in a single sitting. That same evening a large frog appeared and sat chirping in the back garden. 🙏🐸🙏 THANK YOU KAMBO, GRACIAS MEDICINA

ORIGINS OF KAMBO

There are many legends about the origins of Kambo use, but the most widely accepted story comes from Brazil. According to Kaxinawa legend, the village fell dangerously ill to an unknown disease. The village Shaman, Kampu, tried every known medicinal herb and remedy to cure them but none were effective in providing relief from their illness. In desperation Kampu sought guidance from the medicine ayahuasca. While in the forest and under the guidance of the sacred medicine, he was visited by the Great Spirit who presented him with the frog and gave him the knowledge to cure his village. The divine spirit then taught him how to extract a white secretion and apply it to his village. Kampu returned and did as he was instructed, curing his village of their ailment. After Kampu’s death, it is said his spirit entered the frog and remains there today to help aid and protect the people of the forest.

Taking Kambo is like having a shower under a strong waterfall. You will get clean but at the same time it often feels so overwhelming and heavy like you may be broken down by the strength of it. And then shortly after, it is over, a calmness and peace of mind comes in, gratefulness and love 💚 !!! So grateful for this medicine 🐸 7 years I have known you and am continually in awe at the gifts you bring to my life. Viva kambo!

A review from Asha who isn't on Facebook but wanted to share her experience when sitting with kambo for the first time:- I had been in need of some sort of holistic cleanse or spring clean if you like and so my awareness of Kambo had arrived at exactly the right time! I went into the experience with intentions regarding my mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. I also had some mild inflammation and pain in my left shoulder which I was hoping the kambo would help alleviate.
My initial apprehensions were put to rest after Keith explained the proceedings of the Kambo ceremony. Despite the intensity and the obvious, unpleasant aspects of purging (which weren't all that bad), I still felt very comfortable in the calm space that Keith had created.
Immediately after the ceremony, I felt a great sense of peace and contentment followed by a surge of energy upon leaving the house and being outdoors. Subsequently, I have experienced subtle yet very noticeable changes psychologically and physically; my shoulder pain has ceased and I generally feel more energised and focused. Within me, I have this feeling that energy pathways have been somewhat unblocked and things are flowing much more freely. It's hard to put into words but there was a sensation of things being loosened, a peeling away of layers of negative thoughts, habits, energy. I was able to let go of some of the things that were no longer serving me and so Kambo has been a great starting point on the journey of self becoming. Overall, I have had a very positive and powerful experience. I'm very thankful that I was introduced to Kambo and very much looking forward to doing it again! Thank you Keith!

Perhaps you are wondering what is Kambo? It is also known by its scientific name Phyllomedusa Bicolor, which is a large green tree frog from the upper Amazon rainforest. The Kambo frog has few natural predators, due to the fact that its skin secretion is poisonous to other mammals and reptiles (but luckily not to humans!). The secretion from Kambo has many bioactive peptides and neuropeptides that are known to have positive effects on the human mind and body.
