We’ve got a busy bank holiday weekend planned here at The Yardarm and to round it all off, on Sunday, Simon Brown & Mr Joe will be playing Soul, funk and Disco tunes from 3pm till late!

The last two bank holidays these guys played here have been awesome, and this Sunday will be no exception.

Next weekend there’s lots going on at the Yardarm for the bank holiday!

All weekend long we have the Tapas Takeover provided by TXOKOS (head to the website for more info)

We’ll also be open later on Friday and Saturday for all your drinking needs for the bank holiday!

Our favourite summer wine is back!

Vhino Verde is a light and refreshing Portuguese White Wine. With a slight fizz and tropical notes, we find this wine really gives you that holiday feeling.

IT’S OUR BIRTHDAY!

Can you believe The Yardarm is 2 years old this week?! What a journey it’s been so far.

A massive thank you to everyone who has drank, eaten and partied here since we open. We are forever grateful. You allow us to do what we love, make awesome food and drinks for awesome people!

A Lemon Radler style beer from the brewers of Estrella. At 3.2% it’s very crushable on a warm day.

It’s all about the Spritz this Month at The Yardarm. And boy have we got some good ones for you.

As well as the classic Aperol Spritz and our summer staple, the Elderflower Spritz, we’ll also be serving:

LYCHEE LOVIN’ - using Lychee Liqueur, Vanilla, Pink Grapefruit, Soda & Prosecco

GARDEN SPRITZ - Blanco Vermouth, Triple Sec, Celery & Orange Bitters, Soda & Prosecco

ABBEYDALE ROAD BEER FEST!!!

1st - 4th Aug 2024.

One month to go until the biggest date on the Abbeydale Road calendar.

Now in its 3rd year the Abbeydale Road Beer Fest is only growing in popularity, with 2024 set to be the biggest and best!

4 days, 12 venues and over 100 beers, all on one road!

This year we’ve teamed up with a true Sheffield institution, Abbeydale Brewery! Makers of classics such as Moonshine, Heathen and Deception, as well as many other cracking beers.

Given our cellar is about 50 meters from the brewery we’ll be serving up some of the freshest beer you can get your hands on.

Stay tuned to find out what we’ll be serving throughout the festival.

While we support England, we don’t show the football here at The Yardarm. So if you’re looking to head out to today but don’t want to watch the football, why not pop in?

We’re open until 9pm with food served until 7pm.

TROPICAL MARGARITA!

New to the menu, this Margarita is made using Watermelon Tequila, Mango Syrup, Orange Liqueur, Lime, Sugar and a pinch of Salt.

PRIVATE HIRE!

You can hire out our upstairs bar privately, decorate the space however you like and play your own music. You can even go all out and get a DJ for the night, like Hannah did last Friday.

Best of all it’s free to hire! We just have a minimum spend of £300. This is taken as a deposit then refunded back to you once the amount has been spent on the night.

AUBERGINE BAO BUN!

A recent addition to the food menu, this Bao is a must try. Aubergine fried in crispy Panko breadcrumbs with a sweet plum jam and refreshing pickled cucumber.

‘The sun is over the yardarm’

It’s time for a drink!

“The sun is over the yardarm” is an expression that originated on old sailing ships crossing the Atlantic in the 1800s. When the Sun rose above a certain part of the mast (called the Yardarm) it was considered acceptable to have your first drink of the day. Back then this was about 11am and the drink was a massive shot of rum!

We’re not suggesting you drink rum at 11am but how about a drink once you finish work today, to kick off the bank holiday weekend?

The last one went great so DJs Simon Brown and Mr Joe return for another bank holiday Sunday at The Yardarm.

FREE PRIVATE HIRE!

Did you know our upstairs bar is free to hire?

The room holds up to 50 people and is a completely private space with its own bar. Meaning no trips downstairs for drinks.

You can decorate the space however you like, play your own music and have the option to choose from our food packages.

We just have a minimum spend of £300. This is taken as a deposit then refunded back to you once the amount has been spent on the night.

Summer’s on the way!

This warm weather’s got us looking forward to summer days on the terrace.

In our opinion The Yardarm is at its best when it’s warm and sunny. We slide the big bi-fold doors open and enjoy straight sunshine on the terrace all throughout the afternoon and into the evening. We can’t wait!

WE’RE HIRING!

We are looking for a Bartender / Front of House member to come and join us on a Saturday, each week.

Hours are around 8 - 9 per week, depending on how late we finish.

This role would be ideal for someone studying and looking for a weekend job or in full time employment and after making some extra money on the weekends.
