It's International Transgender Day of Visibility!
'Transgender 101' is a great book for people who aren't sure what being trans means, biologically, psychologically or socially. It takes a no-nonsense, down-to-earth approach, and its uplifting tone makes for enjoyable reading.
In our memoir section, we recommend Katie Rain Hill's 'Rethinking Normal.' Her description of being a young trans person in school is deeply moving, and shines a light on the personal side of trans inclusion.
For fiction featuring trans characters, we love 'Girl, Woman, Other', 'Freshwater', and 'This is How it Always is'.
We're only open for click-and-collect at the moment, so if you see anything you like, email [email protected] or ring 0114 2661950.

Celebrate Pancake Day with this underrated classic. Jan Fearnley's 'Mr Wolf's Pancakes' puts a twist on the classic villain, making him a long-suffering lover of desserts. Funny, touching, and — perhaps — surprising, this picture book is ideal for kids aged three and up.
