We are recruiting:

Leisure Assistant

General assistant vacancy working in our skate hire department, at our busy roller skating venue, at Skate central, Sheffield, S2 4DF.

Skate central is located close to Sheffield city centre. Although it is primarily open to the public for roller skating it also hosts regular boxing events, roller hockey, ball hockey and roller derby tournaments.

We are looking for a flexible, hard working and enthusiastic general assistant to work in various departments, but primarily in skate hire, the right candidate will have the opportunity to train in all aspects of the venue.

We are offering regular hours (not zero hours) but due to the type of work that we do, evenings and weekends, you must be flexible to work at short notice and it can include early starts and late finishes. The set hours each week will be week Friday evening 6:30pm until approximately 10:30pm and Saturday 12:30pm until 5:30pm.

Starting hourly rate is minimum wage with quarterly performance pay reviews.

You will need to demonstrate that you have:

Excellent customer service skills

The ability to work alone and also as part of a team

Flexibility to cover holidays and events when required

Be willing to help in all aspects of the venue

Be physically fit and have a hard working attitude

Flexibility will be required to cover holidays, work at short notice and cover events, which will include evenings and weekends.

Coffee shop Assistant

You will be working in a busy roller skating venue, at Skate central, Sheffield, S2 4DF.

Skate central is located close to Sheffield city centre. Although it is primarily open to the public for roller skating it also hosts regular boxing events, roller hockey, ball hockey and roller derby tournaments. We also manage Stars & Mayfair party suites.

We are looking for a flexible, hardworking and enthusiastic coffee shop assistant to work primarily in the coffee shop department.

The main duties will be:

- Assisting with management of all aspects of the coffee shop

- Assisting with managing all aspects of food hygiene, health & safety and store cleanliness

-Stock control

-Serving hot/cold food and drinks

-Catering for public sessions, children’s Birthday parties and buffets for Wedding/Birthday parties and events.

-Assisting in other areas of the business when required, such as skate hire, cleaning, completing stock takes.

We are offering regular hours per week (not zero hours) but due to the type of work that we do (evenings and weekends) you will therefore need to be flexible to work at short notice and it can include early starts and late finishes. The main basic hours are on a rota basis, you would work:

Week 1: Thursday evenings 4:30pm until 8:30pm and Saturdays 12:30pm until 5:30pm. Approximate hours.

Week 2: Saturdays and Sundays 12:30pm until 5:30pm. Approximate hours.

Then back to week 1.

Rate of pay up to £12 after training, with quarterly performance pay reviews.

DOUBLE QUALIFIER WEEKEND IN SHEFFIELD

We have two adult qualifiers taking place this weekend at Skate Central in Sheffield.

Saturday sees our Tier 1 teams meet for their 2nd qualifier.

On Sunday it is the turn of our Tier 2 teams to take part in the third and final qualifier before nationals.
