An Empty Harthill Reservoir How Harthill Reservoir looks when it's drained of water, for almost 2 years, whilst work is done on the dam wall and spillways
How is Harthill looking right now? - Our resident pilot gave us an insight! We're currently awaiting the latest update from CRT on water being let back in.

Latest CRT Update -
So......the news from CRT this week isn’t what we wanted to hear………….the works at Harthill are overrunning!
Current projected completion is now the end of May 2024! If you've visited the club recently, you may have noticed quite a considerable amount of water, which we had hoped was a good sign - this is a natural cumulation that is going to be drained away as the work continues.
CRT have advised this will be slowly drained down over the coming weeks to allow more work to be done on both the old and new spillways.
Once we have a firm time line and in collaboration with the various other clubs, we will need to do some maintenance on the site. Primarily this will be hacking back the considerable amount of w**d and plant life that has sprung up, particularly around the water entry/exit area.
As always, we're in the hands of others and nature itself. Once we have further updates we will announce these.
Whilst this is not the news we were hoping for, we hope it doesn’t spoil the festive period for you all. Wishing all our members and friends, past and present, the very best seasons greetings.

Pie & Peas Update - https://mailchi.mp/125359114809/pie-peas-update
Don't forget that Pie & Pea racing moves to a 7pm start this week! Only 3 weeks left.......
That ‘Phantom Grin’ - it just grabs you every time!
In a change to our traditional Thursday night Pie & Peas, last night we were treated to Paella thanks to Andy and his family. Also a huge thanks to Farrah who has now completed her volunteering for her Duke of Edinburgh - best of luck from all of us in completing the remainder of it.
Don’t forget that due to the darker nights we start at 7pm from next week when we’ll be back to pie and peas.

And this is what we want to see from our safety boat drivers!
Last nights trial session with the low water was a success so we’ll continue with the Thursday/Sunday sailing sessions for now (members only). Not suitable for TrySails/Training unfortunately.
The tide might be out but we’re still giving it a go - amazing what that lure of Pie and Peas does!!

Sailing Update - https://mailchi.mp/d404f13d5e2b/sailing-suspended
Sailing Suspended Good Morning all and I hope you are well. I'm writing with a couple of quick updates - some unfortunate news and also a thank you. Sailing and Swimming Suspended Over the last 2 weeks we have experienced a very sudden and quick reduction in water levels, which we weren't forewarned about. Having s...
Don’t forget there is no racing this weekend as we have a training course running. Normal racing will be resume on Thursday with Pie and Peas. Sunday racers we’ll see you next week
Well the wind looked ‘interesting’ this morning. 6 brave souls decided to venture out. 3 managed not to swim and 2 managed to finish the first race. After lunch all agreed the bar was a better option - some excellent efforts from last year’s course students and certainly be some tired muscles this afternoon/tomorrow!
Rotherham Sailing Club Updates - https://mailchi.mp/0dc4ee002185/rotherham-sailing-club-updates
Rotherham Sailing Club Updates Well what a great day, the sun was out, the wind was a nice Southerly down the lake (although not quite as strong as was originally forecast) and gradually built throughout the day for a great final 3rd race which saw some tired and aching bones after being out of a boat for a while (well for me an...

Rotherham Sailing Club - the year 2022 and what's in store! We're at that point in the year where we dust off the cobwebs and get back out on the water (there have been a few hardy soles already during the winter months braving the conditions! ). I know there's been a fair bit of uncertainty around what will happen this year due to CRT planning works to ...
