We are absolutely delighted to announce that our Coaches Elle and Katy are now qualified Yogis🧘🏼‍♀️

They have worked so hard this year to become qualified yoga instructors, and they passed this Saturday with flying colours!

Hours of reading, essay writing , practice and teachings have gone into this. You should be really proud of yourselves. We certainly are 🥰

There will be TWELVE teams this year, all with four athletes each. So, you could say we’ve upped the ante this year to make our annual in-house competition bigger and better than ever 🎉

Who do you like the sound of? 👀 Who will you be rooting for? 🏆

🥾 Forging the Canalathon 🥾

On Saturday 17th August Rebecca (Garnett) will taking on the challenge of walking from Leeds to Skipton to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association.

Timings will be confirmed nearer the time but the plan so far is to get the first train out to Leeds and be back in time for beers! If you think 30 (approx.) miles of mild humour and light entertainment whilst walking is for you then feel free to join her for the full thing, part of it or just for some celebration drinks at the end.

You will be walking at your own risk and this is not an organised event. Please let Rebecca know if you would like to join from the beginning so she know who to wait for at the train station!

Our Athletes are locked in, ready and raring to go. September 1st simply cannot come fast enough to allow these twelve feisty teams to battle it out.

We are excited to introduce you to our teams so soon, but right now their choosing their War Names, and deciding what makes their team strong 💪🏻 or weak AF 😅

And if you missed out on competing this year, we’ll still need some trusted judges and spectators of dreams so get yourself down, and get involved Forgers 😍

Tonight is the celebration of our 5th Cohort of Forge Physique 🥳 We are so proud of all of you and everything you have achieved in the last 10 weeks 💪🏼

This programme is not easy - it is a challenging battle which constantly has to be worked at but you have now completed it 👏🏼 We hope you now have the tools to carry on your journeys - however that may look!

🪴 Firstly, our second Wellness Day is approaching FAST, and we only have a minimal amount of tickets left. Set with guests workshops, detox teas and shots and more, this day is set out to be just what you need

🧡 Our Forge Fest is SOLD OUT for competitors but the more spectators the merrier so add this date to your diary and get yourselves down to support your fellow Forgers

🚲 Summer Spin Special is in the diary for the 6th September and this WILL sell out so be on the ball to book your bike as the time approaches

💪🏻 Strong competition run by .strength will take place on the 3rd November and tickets are already selling for this via the website so grab yours now to be in with the chance to be named Cobbydales Strongest Forger 2024

🎅🏼 And... (don't say we didn't warn you!) our annual Christmas shin-dig is penciled in for Saturday 28th December! Ho ho ho

We knew this competition was going to be popular... it always is! But Forge Fest 2024 ticket’s have absolutely flown out 💨

We should know teams earlier than planned, so we can get these too you sooner. Meaning you can train together, decide on a name and get Forge FEST ready.

This F’Fest is going to be EPIC 💪🏻🤪

We will be looking for a whole host of spectators to come and support our Forgers... and some keen-eyed-judges 👀 Keep your eyes peeled for more info!

Today we welcomed our Cobbydale Kids into the gym for their first Kids Camp of the summer. A full day of fun, friends, learning new skills and much more!

If your child missed out, or simply had so much fun that they want to come back, Anna will be back again next Tuesday for another full day of fun!

It’s time for that annual spring clean and freshen up here at the Forge 🧼

We are closed for all of this coming weekend as local decorator and dedicated member, Baz, comes in to freshly paint our Forge 🎨

A huge congratulations to our staff and members who completed the Ilkley Half Marathon at the weekend.

These people set their sights on a goal and went for it, and just look what they have achieved 💪🏻

There are just shy of six months left of 2024 – what are your goals?

Next week we will be welcoming Cobbydale Kids to spend the whole day with us for our first summer camp of the holidays!

Our Kids Coach Anna is so excited to spend the day with our youngest of Forgers – teaching them new skills, playing games and ultimately having loads of fun 🤩

Are you a parent who doesn’t know what to do with your kids for all of summer? Worried that they’re just going to sit back and do nothing with their days?

Last week, we were fortunate enough to receive Mental Health Training from local charity Mind in Bradford 💙

We had staff participate in this training, specifically based around skills for managers to help us go forward and implement incentives to make Cobbydale Forge a mentally healthy workplace 🧠

Our biggest take away from this training is recognising that although we sit on a continuum of coping well some days, and not at all the next, there are always skills and coping strategies that we can develop to aid our Mental Health and wellbeing.

And mental health is JUST as important as physical health 💪🏻

This training has given us a lot of inspiration to implement on our next upcoming Wellness Day on Sunday 18th August, and we’re looking forward to welcoming twenty members into this space to see what they can do for their wellbeing.

We are joined again this week by students from local schools embarking on their Work Experience 💪🏻

We have developed a comprehensive programme for the students to follow to give them an insight into the world of Cobbydale Forge!

From creating classes, learning to work with a budget, planning social media content and learning the ways of Front of House, we’re sure to keep them busy all week long!

If you see them around the gym this week, give them a wave, say hello and make them feel welcomed 👋
