Ever popular with hedgehogs is Stan's Hedgehog Box bringing sophistication, warmth and security to the everyday hog and their hoglets. Sadly around a third of the hedgehog population in the UK has been lost since 2000 and a survey by the informative website www.hedgehogstreet.org has found that hogs like these kind of homes that we put out for them, otherwise they will need to build an artificial nest. If you would like to 'give a hog a home' then email [email protected] with your contact details and request a hedgehog box for £40 quoting HHB40. All funds received will go towards the upkeep of the Shed.
7 March 2024. It should soon be getting warmer and you may be needing a small, rounded, square planter for your garden, such as that pictured here. This compact and attractive planter is portable and unobtrusive and hand made by Shed members. If you would like to order one please email [email protected] with your contact details and request the £30 Round Top Planter: reference RTP30. The Shed will leap into action and make your planter to order, with all funds received going towards the upkeep of the Shed.
Spring is just around the corner and what your own garden growing corner probably hasn't got is what we are calling "Phil's Plant Tray" as seen in this picture. If you would like one for just £75 please email [email protected] quoting PPT75, giving your contact details and the Shed will leap into action to process your order. All such revenue is put towards the upkeep and ongoing cost of running the Shed.
Monday 4 March 2024. We think that the Grassington Men's Shed has the best view from their Shed than any other in the UK, and that is to say - the Yorkshire Dales. Here's Richard, Neil, and Phil just off home after the Monday session. The sun is shining but just out of shot there is snow over the tops in the distance.
Due to heavy snow, record low temperatures inside & outside, and the absence of attendees, Richard pronounced the Shed open and then closed at 10am this Thursday 18th January. As temperatures plunged to minus 8, some shops in the village had already closed. On the plus side, Moor Lane was looking bright, clear, and fabulous. See photo.
Happy Christmas everybody (beach art in Devon)
The Grassington Men's Shed stand is outside the Hub at the two Grassington Xmas Market weekends this December. From the left: Neil, Pete & Bob are ready to chat and answer any questions about the Shed. Come and have a chat at our stand on Saturday 9th December as we are around from 10 til 12 & 1 til 3pm. We are just in front of the Black Horse pub, tell us all about yourself, what you do and see if you would like to join the Shed. The Shed is open Monday and Thursday most weeks of the year.
Malcolm is in the mood for making some meaty planters. See this recent creation at the Shed.
It's that time again - the Shed Christmas Dinner at the Old Hall on the 11th December. Don't forget to let Richard know you are coming and what you will be eating from their menu.
9/11/23. Adrian (left) and Mike from the soon to be set up Wilsden Shed visit Grassington Men's Shed to share and exchange tips on running a new shed. Its good to talk.
26/10/23. Before life gets too scary, later this month, get yourself along to the Grassington Men's Shed, and have a serious think about joining up. There's safety in numbers, and we all get together on Mondays and Thursdays, 10 to 12 at the Shed.
27 September 2023. The colliery pit head winding gear prop in the latest production of "Brassed Off" at Grassington Town Hall was supplied by the Grassington Men's Shed. The first night of the play was yesterday and the production, by the Grassington Players, including the Otley Brass Band, continues until Saturday 30th September. The photo below shows the pit head gear very nearly finished and just in need of a few final splashes of paint earlier last week.

A Message from UK Men's Sheds Association:
Hello Shedders!
We're really excited to be preparing for ShedFest, we're just putting the finishing touches before welcoming you next week.
One of the highlights of ShedFest is celebrating the skill and care that Shedders put into their crafting, be it a bird house, or an intricate turned item and this year is no different. We will be hosting a table for Shedders to come and share their makes for other Shedders to see, and another for two competitions - Best Turned Item and Best Utensil. See the poster below for more details.
If you have any questions about ShedFest, please don't hestiate to contact the team. You can email [email protected], or call 07736 021018. We will be sending out an email with more information about ShedFest in the coming days.
We look forward to seeing you, and your makes, in Worcester very soon.
