A continuing trend for 2024 is the house hideaway. For the serious home cook, a suitable place to store rice and grains is a must. Our client had existing storage jars and we made sure that all their favourite containers fit the hideaway to perfection but also ensured they were easily visible and accessible. Our client cooks every meal from scratch, so having the right fitments for pots, pans, woks, spices and grains was an essential part of the design. The bespoke kitchen, designed and made by our skilled cabinet makers in Skipton, included this handy vegetable drawer, made to the customer’s exact requirements, right down to the number and type of vegetables to be stored for their regular meal preparations. This handcrafted oak drawer is both convenient and extends the life of fresh vegetables as it keeps them cool and out of the light. Note the open crate style to allow for air circulation.

Every cabinet maker in our workshop creates a secret drawer and is encouraged to find different and hard to find places within the furniture. The aim is to make it as hard as possible to find the secret drawer. Our record so far is 3 years for a customer to find their drawer – that’s a well-kept secret!⁠

The kitchen island, handmade in our Skipton workshop, brings a pop of the Mediterranean. Finished in Farrow & Ball Picture Gallery Red #42 with a Silestone worktop in Eternal Marfil and complementary, neutral walls painted in Slaked Lime (mid) #149 from Little Greene. Our new interior designer Rebecca has a top tip for a great way to update a neutral kitchen. “Embracing colour is the fastest way to make a space feel warm, inviting and packed full of character. This gorgeous bookshelf spans the entire wall, straddling the glass doors to the conservatory. Taking inspiration from the outdoors, the inside is painted in cheerful and sunny Tuscan Red 140 which contrasts beautifully with the cabinetry painted in Clay 39 both from Little Greene. This recent boot room included panelling to mirror the existing Georgian features. It also required a radical reimagining of the available space. We utilised the original thick, Georgian inner wall and our builders created a recess, which was perfectly filled with bespoke cabinetry including panelling to mirror the existing Georgian features of this gorgeous country home.

This kitchen presented design challenges as it was a very long, narrow, awkward and angled space. Previously it felt like 2 kitchens in one with the cooker located at the far end. By using our design skills we created a beautiful, unified space without compromising flow, function and form. One rarely sees a kettle in a modern kitchen. For good reason, Quooker boiling water taps are incredibly safe and convenient. We sympathetically designed this kitchen acknowledging its Georgian heritage. This Quooker boiling tap is finished in aged brass to match the beautiful brass Queslett cabinet k***s from Armac Martin and lighting. A gorgeous contrast to the Skipton made, bespoke cabinetry painted in French Grey Pale 161 from Little Greene.

We’ve had a refresh of our own at the Ilkley showroom with a combined pantry and utility (Pantility) with floor to ceiling cabinetry and a ladder that reaches the heights and ingeniously moves vertically. The Miele washer and dryer plus light and dark colour separating laundry boxes make this a functional and beautiful space. We often create dual purpose spaces which cleverly optimise square footage. It’s a small space with lots of big ideas.

We love showing off this impressive wine store we completed for one of our clients. Lovingly handmade in oak by our skilled cabinetmakers in Skipton, this bespoke project was designed to house an extensive wine collection. The room is temperature controlled for optimum storage conditions. It's almost hidden from view by the walk in pantry, which is just off the kitchen. ⁠

You can upgrade your shed's appearance by painting or staining it and adding decorative features such as artwork and furniture. Our customer decided to add an extra level of luxury to their shed and we helped them by designing and handcrafting the panelling, a games table and gorgeous bespoke seating.
