People are so complicated and being an empath can be a real challenge but would never want to change this part of me. I feel peoples hurt, I become consumed by negative energy but I also care..a little too much and I love..a little too hard and I’d never want to lose that 🥰

The hardest part about being an empath is discovering that not everyone else is like you.

Not everyone feels things as deeply and cares as much as you do.

Not everyone has the same intuition or introspection.

Not everyone sees the world in a dizzying array of grays, instead of black and white.

Not everyone has the ability to put themselves in others’ shoes and feel the intensity of others’ pain.

Not everyone is able to go as deep.

Not everyone is willing to try.

And it's hard not to be disappointed when other people won’t meet you where you are. With those people, you’ll always have to keep it surface-level to be able to communicate or connect. You have to bob around like a buoy in their comfort zone, when really, you’d much rather dive into your authentic selves.

That’s why the greatest, most fulfilling relationships are with other empaths—the ones who will hoist on their oxygen tanks and dive beneath the waves with you.

The ones who will go there.

The ones who understand that the root of true human connection is a willingness to be vulnerable, and to share the deepest parts of yourself, even if they’re messy and raw and unfiltered.

That’s why it’s so hard to be an empath.

But that’s why it’s also the best to be an empath.

Because not everyone is like you,

But when you find the few others that are—

You know you’re safe.

You know you’re loved.

And you know that if you accomplish nothing else in your life, you will always have the gift of being truly SEEN by another person on this planet.

And really, how beautiful is that?

Looking forward to a weekend away with the Hubby. I’ve definitely learnt the hard way, that it’s so important to take that time for your self and your relationship.
However, it wasn’t always possible when the kids were younger. Leading to many bouts of burnout for myself and an often very grumpy husband.
We are fortunate enough now that our older ones are in their late 20’s now, and 12 year old, is always chilled, in his home environment.
Still we only go 20 min from home in case we need to get home quickly.

Good luck to everyone whose young people are collecting their results today. However, remember learning is life long and the path is not always a straight one.
You are not defined by todays results xx

Still a few spaces on this next set of workshops. The feedback from the first set was so inspiring. Would really like to share this with more neurodivergent parents. (You do not need a diagnosis) Booking is essential to keep this accessible ☺️

A couple of conversations have reminded me today that we only know what we know and it’s so easy to get walked over if we don’t understand our rights.
IPSEA website is an amazing website for all things send law and is in fact, the company where SENDIAS get their law training packages from ☺️
If you haven’t checked it out already, it might be a nice bit of reading over the holidays 😉
