Not a great start to a Tuesday. Yard flooded over night, workshops a metre under water. We have some sorting out to do this week but will try to keep work on track as best we can. If we are slow getting back to anyone or we miss a dead line please bare with us

The latest nordstar 28+ motor yacht is nearing completion ready for MCC Marine boat brokerage & New boat sales to hand over next week. This including a synthetic teak deck made and fitted by the team from Elite Teak Decking-EVO decking synthetic teak and Coppercoat applied in house by Yachting Sports

Now for something completely different. Yachting sports sponsored radio A nationals. A 30 boat fleet sailed over 3 flights, a good weekend.

A full shed again. Dev a she traveller 9.5 in for a re-paint and copper coat, Damsel a contessa 26 having an engine fitted ready for the owner to finish her off and a brand new Rupert R7 rib being commissioned complete with seating from Ullman dynamics.

Summer is nearly upon us and the winters projects are starting to come to an end. Some of the projects include:

The lovely folkboat. We have fitted a new feather stream propeller, shaft and cutlass bearing, bushes the rudder pintails to loose the play, stripped and re-varnished the coach roof sides, re-painted the coach roof top, tweaked the deck layout to ease sail handling as well as various other repairs and mods.

A beautiful Swordsman 40. She has had the exterior toe rails and rubbing strokes stripped and re-varnished. All the high gloss varnish work in the cockpit re-done as well as some interior repairs. Now back in the water the final few bits can be finished ready for the new season.

The set of Presto Marine davits have how been fitted and are working well. They give the owners a hastle free way of launching and recovering their tender whilst keeping it secure at sea.

We have also been preparing a Sadler Starlight 395 for season as well as fitting a few SUR Ribs, including one onto an Oyster 80.

This leaking windlass had been ignored and caused a fair bit of damage.
We have sealed up the deck, mounted the windlass on a new fiberglass plinth that has been let into the teak, fitted a large backing pad for support and made good the damaged forward bulkhead.
Remember don’t ignore issues as they only get worse. 😉

Winch servicing is very important to make sure they all work as they should. A good thing to add to your winter maintenance list.

With this years folk boat varnishing project on going I am reminded of last year’s project on the beautiful My Dream. We have over the last few years completely stripped and revarnished this beautiful David Thomas one off. Marineware Ltd.

As the temperature gets colder outside it’s great to have two fantastic boats to work on in the shed. A contessa 32 that we are re-painting the deck grip on and a folkboat we are revarnishing.

Maintenance technician required. Job will involve:
Woodwork: preparation and varnishing, joinery, safe use of machinery.
Marine plumbing: 12 and 24v fresh water systems, sanitary systems and grey/black waste systems.
General maintenance: anti fouling, polishing, deck gear servicing, deck gear replacement, mast work including working aloft.

It’s cold outside, so time to hide in the shed, strip and revarnish this beautiful wooden boat.

Round the island 2019 in the yachting sports refurbished international h boat. Long race finishing with nav lights on at 21.59 after over 13 hours of racing. 6th overall. Thank you to Hyde Sails for our new main jib and kite, very pleased with them.
