👀 Look out for tapestry invites - this is where your child’s learning and development is documented and you can communicate via the messages app on here also.

☎️ If your child’s not going to be in please drop of a call on 01406 350525 its our policy to ring if they’re absent so if you ring us first its a big help.

⛑️ all our staff hold peadiactric first aid and can administer medications, but these need to be labelled and in date. Grab a staff member for more info or refer to our policy.

Please be aware invoices are due.

This month due to them being late out I will be lenient with pay dates (please have them paid by 4:9:24)

However going forward we will be having to be very strict with our payment policy due to some rather significant debts that have occurred through non payment of invoices.

Unpaid invoices for a service you have had is unfair and unacceptable. Our staff deserve to be paid and we wish to remain viable to continue to provide childcare therefore require prompt payment of invoices.

plumber and handman wanted!

We are looking for a plumber to install a washing machine waste pipe and plumb in and also a handy man to carry out some jobs for us whilst we have our annual spruce up of the nursery ready for september. Do you know/recommend anyone?

Don’t forget we are closed next Friday August 23rd for our annual whole team day.

Where all 54 (!!!!) of our staff get together to share ideas, carry out training, get to grips with new guidance and legislation and embed the Smartie Pants ethos 💕

Sorry for any inconvenience but over the years we have found this day invaluable to our team and ultimately our families and children.

We would just like to make you aware we have had a few cases of chicken pox.

We are finally getting some warmer weather but this does come with some issues especially in our portakabin buildings.

With the forecast for the coming weeks reaching higher temperatures, we are taking extra precautions to make sure your little ones are staying safe in the heat while enjoying the exciting activities we have planned! ☀️

We would like to ask that parents consider the following things:

☀️ Bringing in a high-SPF sun cream. Please do ensure your child comes to nursery with sun cream applied - this really helps us out and enables us to get outside nice and early before it gets too hot! We will of course reapply as needed throughout the day.
☀️ Bringing in a wide-brim, named sun hat.
☀️ Ensuring your child is wearing loose, light-coloured clothing
☀️ Keeping long hair tied up
☀️ Including an ice pack where possible in lunchboxes - we do store them in our fridges
☀️ Providing spare, clothing for our water play
☀️ lots of water play activities available
☀️ calmer activities in the afternoon when its usually the warmest

We would like to reassure parents that children will be monitored closely.

Children always have access to fresh drinking water and we will be encouraging them to drink more throughout the day.

We are taking steps to keep our buildings as cool as possible, unfortunately being a portakabin building the heat is difficult to manage - We open all Windows and doors to let the air circulate from 7.30am and then close all blinds to keep the sun out, we have several wall mounted fans and mobile air con units in each room ❄️

We are lucky enough to have a small outdoor covered area however we are also having some sails installed outside to provide more outdoor shaded areas so the children can be outside more when the weather is warmer but also remain safe.

4 more weeks remaining of term ……and the you can guarantee the rain will come!

Paddling pools are a great way to have fun and cool down in the warmer weather. But it’s important to remember little ones can drown in just a few cm of water.

That’s why it’s so important to keep little children in arms reach when they’re in or around the paddling pool.

It’s also wise to empty paddling pools after use to stop children falling in accidentally or entering them unsupervised.

And, don’t forget to store or turn over your paddling pool when it’s not in use to prevent it from filling with rainwater.

Today we all had a visit from the dentist, they read us a story and explained how important it is to brush our teeth twice a day and we learnt lots lots more!!!
